QUOTE (96stgreendemon @ Apr 27, 2010 - 10:42 AM) *
i was looking online today for my coilovers and i stumbled upon some sway bars too, now the question is how big of a difference will the sway bars make in the handling and how hard are they to install?

I asked the same question about a month ago. Before anyone here bashes you, I'm going to tell you to try and use the search function. There are a couple of threads on here about which sway bars are good for the money and some about installs as well. When I asked Batman told me that Suspension Techniques was a very good brand. But you could do your research to see which ones you would like.

sway bars (ARB's) make more of a difference then springs do imo, whiteline do them, if your FWD you only need a rear one, best mod i ever did

definitely a good mod, keeps the car flat on corners but doesn't necessarily make the ride worse. putting them in the rear isn't too bad but a few things have to be moved (exhaust, pipes to petrol tank etc) front I haven't done but I assume it would be a nightmare by looking at it. Rear only is alright although oversteer levels go up, I think doing them both the car would understeer more but body roll would be less.

Rear gt4 strut was the best performance mod I ever did to my car. Sticks to the road like glue now. I can hit 20mph corners at 65+ (not saying that I do... wink.gif )

But yeah, well worth it.

you really think so? i never noticed a difference at all with the GT4 rear brace fitted, i can't really imagine there actually being that much travel between the rear strut tops

He probably got mixed up with strut bars and sway bars? I noticed it was just a tiny bit firmer on fast corners with with gt4 strut bar, sway bar is a BIG difference.

i've got both front and back suspension tech sway bars and the cars a blast to drive. i can't comment on if it is/isn't better with just the rear since i bought and installed both at the same time. the rears had different mounting points though...one for more oversteer and one for more understeer. i wouldn't know how much of a difference it makes though since i set/kept it at more oversteer. the backs pretty straight forward, i didn't have to move much iirc. for the front, i dropped the subframe just a bit to get the thing in there as its so much thicker (not to mention stiffer) than the stock. not sure if you HAVE to but i did it cus it was easier for me (lift+air tools). these sway bars coupled with tanabe coils are fun...if only the car wasn't so nose heavy it would be even better lol

Ksport, D2, Megan are all made in the same factory with different specs. Those BC's look like they are the same ****.

All cheap coilovers are pretty equal, just look at the spring rates for their differences.

no its really not.
if your questions havent already been covered, then creating a new topic is a good thing, because they are there for future searches.
now, if your not using the search function to at least try and look for info before you post, and just posting questions just for the hell of it, thats a diffrent story. wink.gif
