I am going to starved rock on Saturday just to go and take some pictures/hangout. I only mentioned that i was going this weekend in case anyone didn't have anything planned and felt like getting together. the meet is the weekend after this one i think. and as far as i know, we are meeting there, I'm not sure though, people were all saying different things. im hoping this weekend would be a little less crowded since there will be 2 other meets going on in the area on the day of our meet. or so iv read.. tongue.gif

not just honda-tech and mr2oc but jdmchicago as well...

honda-tech and jdmchicago are probably joining together

honda-tech is gonna be big with a lot of central illinois guys (UofI and ISU crew)
im sure the mr2 guys are heading up the 71 for driving
jdmchicago bringing majority honda and nissan guys with a good handful of evo and sti

pretty busy weekend, i might add.

My thoughts:

Meeting up with mr2oc crew should be cool and a lot of respect for one another. (because we're in the toyota family) I know a couple members and can share one another's knowledge.

Meeting up with honda-tech will have tension in the air with some haters and higher level of immaturity when proving their car is superior to ours. (How i know is because by reading the forums, there is a high level of immaturity and lack of respect. Also tad along with friend's EM1 and cannot believe the lack of respect even amongst fellow civics) Also we will be out numbered like 20:1. It'll be just a honda meet with intergra, RSX looking toyotas (us).

Meeting up with jdmchicago will be all about sti, evo, drifters, and vtec crew and we will not be welcomed. (been to one jdmchicago meet and results are horrible. Discrimination, revving engines and attempt of drifting that only results in a fishtail. Bitter can confirm this.)

I think meets go better when they are small and well thought out. We can go meet the other forums but i think we should get away from the pack and have the majority of the day with 6gc crew and do our "original"

sorry for blah-blah ing.

yo dawg, where you been? how was china/japan?

I agree with what you're saying wholeheartedly...and I don't mind being the only 7th gen there. I had originally wanted a 6th gen but the power was just not there and they felt larger than they were...and the 7th gen looks grew on me.

anyways, yes I'm fine with meeting the MR2 guys, skipping the honda boi's, and doing our own thing at the spot. Just so long as I don't go home with a greasy back this time.

well, i went to the spot, not knowing it was a boat launch. so i found the last spot that wasn't taken up by trucks and boat trailers, sat in the shelter for a while while being glared at by the uncomfortably quiet fishermen.. so i decided to leave that area, stopped at one of the hiking parking lots, took some pictures of my celica, then drove 71 a few times and went home. its a nice area.

ha ha, well that hairpin wall was in the beginning for me, but on the way back it seemed way sharper than when i was going uphill. but it was fun, i never get to drive on roads like that where i live.
