Really you need to be more specific because it could be your wheel, strut, bearing, axle, tie rod, exhaust, heat shield, battery, exe. pretty much anything and everything can rattle under the hood. i have a e153 tranny and the mr2 inners and alltrac outter axles all hooked up. been running it for a years now without a problem..just recently i started to notice a clunking noise coming from the front left(when inside of the car) axle. i can feel movement/something happening from the inside of the car a clunking/thumping noise. at first i thought i had something loose. i lifted the car up and checked and double checked everything...everything is down to torque. dropped the car back down and the noise went away for a few days...i took like 2 or 3 hard turns and the noise came back! decided this time to lift the car up and throw her in gear. some crazy clicking noise came was happening from the axle/tranny. only happens in gear or while the axle is moving. so i decided to single the noises out. at first it sounded like the tranny..so i scope the tranny and it was good, even did a tranny flush and refill. noise was still there...so i decided to scope the axle, the cluncking or clicking noise seems to be coming from the inner bearing of the axle (where the mr2 inner goes into the tranny and the alltrac axles breeeds into the inner mr2 part? has anyone ever heard or had a similar problem? do you guys think its a axles bearing problem or do you guys think its from the tranny.. i can feel a thumping noise under my feet as i drive..it feels like for example if something was loose and it just falling/hitting the axle while it was spinning. any help would be great... --------------------  |
