N2 or
2 n cuase the second stands for nitrogen, but that dont make sense.

I don;t recall seeing that, I'll have a look down the side of my engine when I'm at my car next.

Its nothing important. I think it relates to the production year of the engine. On some 2nd gens it says PO or P1.
