i think my cam gear was off a few degrees. I put the belt on let the tensioner put tension on the belt but without force its loose? And if i force it the crank turns.

How are you verifying that the timing is right. Did you disconnect any vacuum hoses, what all did you take apart.

only thing that has been apart is the timing area the crank is at 0, rotor button at 1, and cam pully at the v notch. and it still idles bad.

Not too sure which thread to respond to now....
Anyways, after you tighten down the tensioner is everything still lined up? I think you had that issue, correct?

Same thing happened to me that's what I get for talking on the phone while changing the belt lol take the belt off and realign everything make sure no.1 Cylinder is at TDC.

QUOTE
Note: Make sure that the alignment of the v-notch is ±0.5 degrees from the 0 degree mark. This step ensures that the #1 cylinder is at top dead center (TDC, ie. piston at maximum height) when the piston is in compression and the exhaust valve is just closing. 2 crankshaft revolutions equals 1 system cycle.

Its step 14 from the guide.

I noticed my crank timing gear is missing 1 tooth on the back part, not where the timing belt sits... will that cause any problems for the crank sensor?
