Hey everyone.. The time has finally came.. I've had my car for 6 years now.. And have came a long way.. From making my car stock to looking like a beast.. Now finally i'm swapping a 3rd gen 3s into her and completing the beast.. March 13 was my start date.. Took my hood and front bumper off and drove it down to my dads shop. Here are some pics

Pic after removing hood and bumper.

Starting to pull the motor at the shop.

After 3 hours we finally got the engine pulled from the car..

My very first DR TWEAK pose smile.gif lol

The next day my 3rd gen 3sgte came in with the e153 trany (limited slip)

Couple pics of the engine..

Next thing was taking the awd trany off and getting the engine on a stand.

\
Few pics of engine on the stand.

Next we took the intake manifold and throttle body off to get my wiring harness off

Can see the harness laying on the ground lol.

Then we started to take the timing cover off. Did our marking, and started taking cam gears off, valve cover off, Heat shields, and took my oil pans off. Here are pics of us doing them things.

After we did that.. We put the new oil pump on. And the new Water pump. And re-sealed both the oil pans..
Here are a couple pics of that getting done

This pic is with new idler pulley and tensioner pulley, new water pump oil pump. And replaced cam seals. Put cams on And ready for timing belt.. as of now what we have done..

New cam seals, new oil pump, new water pump, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, new timing belt.. And the timing all put back together. And re sealed both oil pans.. This last sunday. I got my valve cover back, put that on. Here is a pic of how the engine sits right now.

Very great progress. I'm happy to see more Celica drivers completing their goals for their cars. Do you mind if I ask what type of wide band you are using? Didn't see it posted. If you did post, my apologies. I must have missed it.

dont forget the spacer, goes between ur tranny and the mr2 inner, also, need more grease cause of the space in and dont push too much on it when installing cause it will fall out in the inner when installing, and dont push it out too much too

oo, and you will need longer bolt too

needle. from the research i've done not everyone needs spacers. just seems depends on the car. I don't have spacers on my set up. and everythings on and looks fine turned wheels all the way both ways and looks good.

Well as of now. everything on car is together and hooked up. Only thing i got left is the one pipe for intercooler and figure out my wide band. I had it all wired up. and the gauge was working. But i couldn't get the little led light and push button to work. So i'm still trying to figure that out.. I'm hoping i'll be able to get it done. I'm ready to go out and drive this beast lol.

I'm using the innovate lc1 wide band.. The calibration led isn't working.. Pretty much figuring out that the controller module has to be bad..

GOOD NEWS!! I got the intercooler piping all hooked up last night and got the car started. Well it started and runs. But it's running really rich.. Burning way to much fuel. checked fuel pressure regulator and the fuel pressure. That checked out fine. I can't get it to idle when i let off the gas it just die's. my dad and i have been trying to figure out what it could possibly be. And help would be great. Thanks guys..

At what idle do you have to keep it from stallng? Have you adjusted the idle control screw?

Where is the idle screw at? we were wondering if this engine had one. And i can keep foot on gas a little under 1k rpm. and it'll sit there but the rpm will jump a bit. And whats this fuel pump relay thing batman is talking about? i just wired my fuel pump in. didn't know i had something to wire in with it? it sounds good. and misses sometimes. But i'd like to get it to start and idle before we get to working on the other things. I just wish i knew what was wrong. blah..
