so for a awd car, i know its bad to run different size tires and all four must match.

What about if you run same size tires but the rims in the

rear will be 17x9 with 44+ offset and
front will be 17x8 with 32+ offset

tires will be 225/45/17 all around. the backs are a little more stretched but when I measured the diameter of the whole wheel, its only different by a 4 millimeters.

Getting conflicting reports on this, don't want to mess up my diff.
can it be done?

ur diff may survive, but the fact is, that 4mm will cause the rolling radius of the front and rear to be different. which means your diff will constantly giving way that much more than normal

edit: typo

Run the same width rim, and same tyre front and rear and you will have no issue regardless of offset. Having the rears with significantly more offset in the rear could exacerbate understeer, but that wouldnt only be the case with excessive difference (ie 25mm or more).

You could measure the finished rolling diameter and if its the same you could in theory run it, but i wouldnt.
Sell those rims and get some Volks or something 3 piece so you can choose your own width and offset.

i was running a stagger with 15mm spacers in the rear, made too much understeer.... run same front and rear.

how much of a stagger? my rears are only one inch more with same size rubber all around.
how long did you run with that setup and did it cause any t-case/diff problems later?
