I have two 5CFM compressors tied together into a single tank ($200 total at harbor freight LOL) for an output of ~10CFM and ~20 gallons @125 max psi.

I used single stage (BAD IDEA, I wont use it again, or recommend it except for a LOWLOWLOW budget job) so it was HARD to spray w/o orange peel, even though I can spray 2 stage pretty darn well. Eh, wet sand in the future haha.

Painted the valve covers, Both intake manifolds, most accessories, and the plug wire cover. Relsealed the top end as well since these are known to leak oil. PLENTY of FIPG.

Waiting on a few other small parts to start dropping it in. When you start getting ready to do things like this you realize you need a TON of small things kindasad.gif

Anyway, heres a pic of the (mostly)painted up V6

Lots of small relatively boring progress over the last two weeks. Basically, engine and trans are together again and on the same property as the celica.

The v6 is all mounted in the celica now as the last post from me shows.

couple issues:

1. it appears the front bank timing cover may interfere with the hood.
2. the passenger side of the engine appears higher than the drivers side. its not sitting level.
3. the poly mount inserts i bought doesnt fit into the st205 rear mount i have, only the front mount.
4. i still have to fab up a passenger side mount, but only after i get the engine sitting level.

I can cut and weld the front mount bracket to make the engine sit lower maybe 1.5-2 inches. this should take care of issues 1, 2, and allow me to tackle 4.

I'm planning to just cut out some plastic discs the size of the rear mount, putting them to either side of the mount and filling it with "window weld." Should get the same thing accomplished and I know for a face itll fit haha. So thats issue 3.

I still need to do:
Wiring
Axles
Exhaust
Paint doors/hatch (ran out of primer kindasad.gif)
Figure out the radiator setup
Add the trans oil cooler
Install AC
Install the power steering pump (i need a camry pump as the lexus pump has two interconnected pumps in one thanks to the hydraulic cooling fan)
Install the rest of the front end(bumper, hood, fenders, etc)

I'm wondering if the stock GT fuel pump can handle the V6, i really dont want to run out of fuel up top....

about the fuel pump. All N/A engines used in the 94-99 celica use the same fuel pump. Even the 197hp 3sge motor uses the same fuel pump as the Celica GT 5sfe motor. but your doing a turbo build right

yeah i cross referenced the fuel pumps between the 5s camry and the 3vz camry & they were the same parts number from toyota so i feel okay.

if the pump fails ill just get an OEM supra pump

harness finished.

turn on the key & i get the CEL, low oil pressure light, and the battery light. no smoke so thats a plus.
cranking i hear the injectors clicking and i get spark.

couple issues though..
1. no fuel pumping. could either have messed up thte circuit or a bad FP (the celica wasnt running when i bought it)
2. it wont crank from the key. I'm pretty sure i forgot to splice the start signal from the key into the engine harness.
3.... i might have set the timing wrong frown.gif
