You could get a full swap done without touching anything yourself for around $3000 USD over here. Maybe a little more depending on what electronic extra's you want + FMIC etc etc.. But there are loads of shops around here who can swap them in cheap because we have HUGE numbers of 5th gen alltracs and their engines in Australia.

I considered selling my car back when it was teal and close to stock and getting a stock '94 Integra GS-R with low, low miles. I even made the for sale ad and everything...I put in it the car window one night, drove to school the next day, and tore it down once I made it into the parking lot, and haven't looked back since. I absolutely love the car now, and couldn't imagine driving an Integra and being like everyone else.

It's not really cheaper because of the engine/clip availability, but mostly because, I'd say, it's much less work. RHD into a RHD isn't hard at all... most everything just swaps. As for us in the US with LHD, we have locate and relocate a lot of stuff, mess with wiring, extending, shortening, etc. It's a whole new ballgame. I personally, If I had the money, could do the swap for a few hundred or so more than the cost of the clip (tune up, timing belt, waterpump, various other little shiats). Our shop has all of the tools, my cousins and I have all of the knowledge, skills, expertise, but like I mentioned... we lack cash, and somewhat, reason. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... Very true.. add to that the fact that you can pick up a good 2nd gen 3s for around $900-1000 USD quite easily here.. so you are talking a very cheap engine. |
