after a long (in my eyes) hiatus from June 2012, finally back on the road

So here is the story of my celica.

so i dont get to ramble on too much, lets start out with the first picture i took of my car back in 2006 when I got her.

the first mod that i did was my JL speakers all around. nothing special. i wasnt too much into the whole 6gc scene until a little bit after.

i then stripped the hub caps and started putting every sticker i found on that car!

then i had finally gotten into the 6gc scene and started to mod her. first things first, a $70 weapon r intake from a fellow member. needless to say i felt badass installing it seeing as how it was my first mod.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdQKHBZH2yg...re=channel_page

after that came exhaust, a nice n\' rare SP1

THEN TRAGEDY STRUCK!
i had thrown a rod and my car was up for about 3months, saddest moment ever!

after all was said and done, i got a new rebuilt block.

the day it was back on the road

this is the first pic i took with my new camera

Then after not having it for a while i wanted to get her gifts, thus leading us into the...
BAD IDEA PHASE

end phase smile.gif

then i put on my XS auto headers the NIGHT before i was leaving for my freshman year of college. ended up rushing and cutting to hastily and had a bad exhaust leak. and a lil bit after put heat wrap on the rad tubes cwm13.gif
also i got one of the limited DCR 3points

then after a month or so, my engine quit on me while cruising around pittsburgh. had to tow it back home to the shop the block was built at in philly. ended up being a bad head gasket. frown.gif

then i just started buying stuff while at school and putting it in

SPENDING PHASE

installing hid\'s in february

most up to date interior shot at night

most up to date engine shot

Got some bars

STEELIES PAINTED biggrin.gif

yellow jdm fogs

jdm tails

yellow highs

MATURING PHASE
well i took off all the stickers haha

got new rubbers

a big shipment

auto-x came into my life

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s66yhF5jtVk

then she sat for a while, not being modded, she was content

THE SCREW YOU GUYS MY CAR IS FINALLY LOWERED PHASE
this is how she sits as of now smile.gif

props to art for getting me into this scene thumbsup.gif

the end.....?

Currently have one as well. Good news, you can drive on it for a while. Meh.

How did you have that header installed, I'm curious? I ask because I feel like a shop wouldn't use a flex piece for some reason.

Can you post some pictures of how you mounted the rear diffuser and also how you routed the exhaust (and where the hangers are)? I hate to possibly copy you, but I absolutely love the look!

The car is up for a revamp for the next few months so I wont have to worry about driving it, and the CV joint looks to be in great condition still, I guess the boot coming off was recent.

Funny thing is the header was one of my first mods. I rush installed it the night before I started college 5 years ago. I took the flexpipe off about a year ago. I would recommend having a flexpipe if you have a stiff car. Or just bolt it up tight.

There should be some pics a handful of pages back that show how I mounted the diffuser.
For the exhaust I cant give you any pics because I dont have any! I never took any pics of the setup because it's actually a mock up or MKI. I am getting it re-done by a fabrication shop in a couple months. I can let you know then.

How is it right now is not how I originally pictured it in my mind and sketched out. But it was a cheap install done at 3am. Im surprised it lasted as long as it has the was it is.

Im just glad I have a real well paying job, so I dont have to take those cheap shortcuts to get something done anymore

on my car smile.gif

I need a new top shroud for the cluster area, so I am holding off on the pictures. There is a big bright orange Rockstar Games sticker on my current one....oh how I regret the mistakes of my 16 yr old self

One more question on the rear diffuser. When putting the bolts on the rear subframe part, did you drill fully through it?
As for the hex capped screw, was is a self tapping bolt or just a regular?
I copied the pictures below.

I used the two holes that are already there.

and used

to fasten it in the hole. Thats the best I could figure out to fasten it with having a hole that doesnt extend the full way through the subframe.
And so far it has held up for 2 or however many years its been on

The Hex's are just regular bolts. I do plan on refreshing everything with locking nuts and new rubber grommets, as the old ones have cracked due to dryness

Alright thanks! and the one I'm getting is 16 gauge aluminum and it weighs around 4lbs so I just need to make sure I secure it on there very well.
I might cut out small holes on the back of the bumper and well a nut inside of it to secure it better than a self tapper. But I'm not sure what I'm exactly going to do as far as that goes yet.

Im lost on the part where you'd be cutting small holes in back of the bumper.

I just used extended bolts that attached to the two center bolt holes for the rear bumper.

Well I would cut holes on the back of the bumper, to put new nuts on the inside of the bumper for the bigger bolts I would be using, and the bolts on my bumper have pretty much all snapped off because they were badly rusted.
Also, I don't believe that the pre-drilled holes on the diffuser will line up with the ones on my bumper anyway.

ahhh gotchya.

You got pre-drilled holes? Mine was blank.

Nothing was more disheartening than having to drill through that lovely piece of Carbon fiber.

I didn't order it yet, but I'm about to and on it, it shows pre-drilled holes.
This is one I'm getting:

But yeah, I wouldn't want to drill through CF either...

Too much money.
Plus I'd rather have aluminum since I sometimes go off roading with the car.
Rocks + CF / Fiberglass = Bad decision lol

laugh.gif I don't think a rear diffuser would help in that situation ^^^
