The foam is trashed. The passenger seat is completely blown out, with the driver side being ok at best. My brother who occasionally rides with me already has back problems, so it just isn't a good situation. Probably wouldn't be that bad if the car hadn't been lowered. Have checked Craigslist and junkyards, nada.
Also tried swapping belts, it could've worked. I would have had to hammer sheet metal out of the way to keep the belt from rubbing it. So just put back the way it was, and am trying to glue the fabric back down as we speak. Rear seat is back in, so that should help with some road noise. What about these? 7th Gen Seats They're the cheapest OEM seats on Ebay right now. Don't get any of those ****ty off brand seats. I've owned a couple pair in my day, they break in no time. These aren't in the greatest of shape, but they look better than yours sound lol. This post has been edited by Xander_X: Nov 29, 2012 - 9:31 AM -------------------- 99 Celica GT-S

Yep had found those, along with some others. Found some 7GC seats for $65 each, and they looked to be in good shape. Shipping killed it of course. Then again I could just have them ship the cushions with covers, should cut down on shipping dramatically.

Perhaps if I can get my Caddy sold. But if I were to buy a full set I was wanting leather, the rear seat is ok. I don't have legless midgets as friends, so it's never used anyway.

Went for a short drive and it seems that adjusting the seat made a little improvement. I'm beginning to wonder if my tires could be part of the problem. I have a gravel driveway, and can't help but notice it's noisier going over it than the other cars. Despite the other cars being 600-1,400 pounds heavier... Has new Sumic tires all the way around. Still stock 14" tires, so plenty of rubber. Guess will do some research.

Got a new set of wheels, they'll be going on this weekend with the all season tires from my other 17in wheels. Guess I won't be able to experience true snow tires this year

Thinking about getting a Lexus or BMW once the Cadillac sells. Turns out you can be 20 going on 40, who knew.

Car started making this horrible clanking noise when going over hard bumps.
Figured ah poo, its the suspension. Popped the hood, found a 14 & 12 mm wrench I left on the fender side. Whoops..atleast it was nothing major. |

I like how the car handles, but I'm beginning to think a BMW or Lexus probably wouldn't handle much worse, if not better, and it'd be way more comfortable. Was looking at the older 325 and the SC300. I have to have my 2 doors and 5 speed, so that's about all there is to choose from. Had we gotten the good version of the Lexus IS in the states, I'd consider a sedan. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

I have to have my 2 doors and 5 speed, so that's about all there is to choose from. Had we gotten the good version of the Lexus IS in the states, I'd consider a sedan. I had an IS 300 until earlier this year. The chassis might be capable but that car had no spirit whatsoever. It was very dull to drive and the N/A 2JZ isn't exactly willing to rev. Had plenty of passing power on the highway but 0-60 was dreadful. Because of that car, I'm a bit biased towards the BMW 330 instead of the 325, although the BMW is probably more fun to drive regardless of engine choice. I've read that the Altezza's with the blacktop BEAMS are a totally different animal than the IS 300, much lighter on their feet and more willing to move. Gas mileage may not be the greatest but I don't think you can go wrong with the BMW or the SC 300. ![]() -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. The only concern was gas mileage. I averaged around 32 this last weekend in the Celica, and that's being rev happy through the gears. With what little amount of driving I do, really is an insignificant amount of money each year in gas. I've looked at a few 325's, and the engine bay looks daunting if it ever needed work. I even looked at the 318 thinking it would be a lot better, but it wasn't. I'm familiar with the Toyota/Lexus way of things, so the SC has the edge in that regard. I just want to know when I suddenly became and old person.

The girlfriend and I feel the same way. No joke, bedtime comes at ten, were both up ridiculously early in the morning, we complain about getting in and out of the Celica or the Z, and (she probably doesn't feel the same way) I love our new RX 300. Just get in it, turn the seat heater on, put it in drive, and go. We're only 23 but we act like we're 50. I spend my days being a grouchy old codger, shouting at the youngsters with their rap music and their backwards hats.... Back in my day..... I digress.
Today I continued the search for a differential rebuild kit for the Celica. Still no results. I'll probably end up shelling out the dough for a new diff. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. im almost 40 and here i am buying and driving a teenager car, that would make most back pain hurt more like hell.

Of course the car should be fun, but it shouldn't beat the Hell out of you either. I want a nice blend of comfort and fun, and the 325 or SC300 would meet that. I went across a bridge that joins the two main highways of my town, doing the speed limit mind you, and it jarred the Hell out of me. The roads around here just aren't suitable for the Celica being lowered.
