Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the sunroof cover? I am switching my tan headliner to a gray headliner, but the sunroof panel seems like its difficult, or even impossible to remove. Has anyone successfully removed it? If so please let me know the trick!

If your talking about that cover that slides over the hole in the headliner, then you have to drop the whole sunroof assy.

man removing the sun roof is a biatch! ive done it on my 95 grandprix gtp i had...well let me rephrase removal was easy, reinstall was the issue. but when i removed it i had to remove cover and that came out before anything else.... edit: looked on autozone.com's repair info and seems above poster is correct looks like the whole glass/sunshade assembly comes out as one peice and you need to undo drive motors and all that jazz...sign up to autozone.com and you can see the repair guides, went to the bgbtech site but they didnt offer much assistance in removal help...good luck..

it's pretty simple to remove.
take off the roof liner, then unbolt the motor near the front of the car. then unclip the drain lines and undo all the nuts holding the sunroof up. after that, you unclip the plastics surrounding the glass on the inside and then you can unbolt the glass. there's a few other bolts and screws to remove, but it shouldn't be too, too hard. |

Just remember that the rectangle trimming surrounding the sunroof on the headliner needs to be removed before trying to remove the headliner

Yep got it! Headliner is out, just need to get the cover off. Maybe I'll just get fabric paint and paint it on the car lol.
Has anyone gotten it out from the inside by pulling it and bending it? |

you bend it i highly doubt you will get it back together, and that fabric paint sucks it makes it all hard and not soft anymore, could always bring it to a upholsterer if you cant cover it yourself

It does come out, Ive taken mine out, just cant remember how. I do know that I did slightly damage one of the slider things on it, it still works, just not as smooth. And I used the fabric spray on mine, its not like Im going to be all rubbing the headliner anyhow, but if I had to do it again I'd so some suede (or something suede like)
