I heard that If I lower my car....I must fold something on the suspension (wheel plates, or something like that)...if I dont do that, I heard that the wheels are gonna fold toward the interior and the tires will rub by the interior..
the brother of one of my friend did that to his CRX (paid 150$CAN) Ive just call to my speed shop and the guy was talking about the wheel plates. But the shop owner thinks that because I have a Toyota, I dont hvae to fold anything.... anyone? |

I think what you are referring to is the fact that when you lower a car, you change the camber on the car towards negative. Some places recommend what are called camber plates. These are basically an adjustable top hat that allows to to move the top of the strut inwards or outwards some to compensate for the camber change when you lower the car. Toyota does authorize the use of crash bolts for the front, which basically takes the place of the camber plates. These are installed at the base of the strut, and are a bit thinner in diameter to allow more adjustment room. They cost a couple dollars each from Toyota, and come in 3 sizes. The thinner the bolt, the more you can adjust things. I would also recommend that you go ahead and buy new nuts for the bolts when you order them, they are only a few cents. You will need 2 bolts for each corner. |

Toyota does not 'authorize' them for the rear, but I don't see any reason not to use them if they are needed. It is the same part number and bolt size.
