"They are still at the vacuum former being pressed. I have a call to get an
idea but it should only be abouther week util we get them.

Regards,

Lo-tek, Inc."

Same thing dude said smile.gif

YES
...but they will fullfill the 30 pre-paid orders first.
Thereafter, they have the mold so it should be straight forward and reasonably quick to make.

I bought 2 because I knew that someone was gonna want one... I'll let you all know when it arrives and we'll start the bidding @ $100 k? heheehe j/k. I'll just ask for the price i paid plus s/h. smile.gif

EDIT : For those who were wondering the price would be 50.98 + s/h unless you wanna come pick it up in DE.. and i wouldnt hose ne1 w/ shipping. The price from lotek was 44.99 for the pod, and 5.99 for s/h. So i'm just trying to break even. smile.gif

Glad to finally hear some news about the progressof these jewels.I CAN`T WAIT TO PUT THIS IN MY CAR.I guess I should decide what 3gauges Iwill put in.Most likeiy will be 1.oil pressure 2.volt meter 3.air/fuel.
What type of gauges does everyone plan on using?I`m thinking about using Auto Meter Cobalt. However I have`nt thought to hard about that yet. biggrin.gif

As far as I understood when I phoned them YES they will.

FAQdaWorld - sorry to piss on your bonfire!

As far as gauges are concerned, I'm still NA so I'll probably go for the following:
AutoMeter 2 1/16"
(One of the following series - Phantom / Sport-Comp / Ultra-Lite)
Air/Fuel Ratio; (AN ABSOLUTE MUST)
Fuel Pressure;
Water Temperature or Oil Pressure (NOT SURE WHICH ONE WOULD BE BEST)
(BTW: Summitracing.com have a good selection).

Lol, save the ownege to for the 50 page thread.... you will never beat me there...

I might end up selling mine for probably a little more because I wouldn't like for 50 dollars of mine to sit around for 3 months without making an interest on it.

Depends on what it looks like when i get it i guess....

Agreed. That was at least 2 weeks ago that they said they were in the vaccum process and almost done if I remember correctly. If these things don't at least ship by the end of the month then we've got some problems.

I just emailed them, I'll let everyone know what I find out later today when they get back to me.

Here was their response:
Presses should be in soon. However, we cannot say exactly when. Our vacuum
former is currently working on them.

Regards,

Lo-tek, Inc.

I emailed them again and asked for a specific date since it has taken so long. THe second one said:
Manufacturing time vary greatly depending on the schedules of the three
different companies. Therefore we cannot give an exact date. As we said,
our vacuum former is in the process of pressing. We contacted them and they
estimate about about a week to form and press. Once we get the presses it
takes about 3-4 days to finish.

Regards,

Lo-tek, Inc.

Sorry I haven't kept up with this like I should be guys. I dont have much time to check the forums and dont make as much time as I used to because I dont have the celi anymore. frown.gif

I did email them today and asked for an update, asked if they had them back from being pressed, and got this as a response
"No. A plastic shortage caused an unusual delay. We left a message today
for an update but have not received an answer yet. Hopefully we will get
them soon."

Hopefully they will get them soon so then we can get them.

Later,

Kaleb

This is pretty rediculous. Does anyone have a date that our order started? I'd like to contact them again but I'd also like to have an exact date and didn't they say it would take somthing like 6-9 weeks? I could be off on that number though.

Did you see my new post about St. Louis??? I have a final pillar to test fit, but dont have a celi anymore. I need someone in Belleville, IL or St. louis area to let me use their car. As soon as this is test fitted and ok'd, they start shipping them out.

I posted in another one that if he couldn't find anyone locally to do it for him that he could send it to me and I'd test fit it for him, but I never heard back from him so I'm guessing he's still trying to find someone. If there is someone else that he could send it to for cheaper then that would probable be the best thing.

I dont know how you folks feel about this, sort of a shady practice, but i just did a member search and complied a list of members who live in either Illinois or Missouri. Do you think if we PMed each of them and asked REALLY REALLY nicely that maybe one would help us out and let Kaleb test fit the mock-up on thier car?

the angle on the top pod looks really funny... amost like the guage is pointing out the window... if thats the case that might need to be fixed cus whats the point of haveing a 3rd guage if you cant see it correctly??

edit: on a closer 2nd look it MIGHT be just the lighting but still should be addressed

It's the angle of the pic, my bro had his done at lotek too. he drives a camry and with a certain angle the gagues will look like they are pointing out side the window. but it looks good.

Also for the gap there its normal what youll need to do is get your stock piller make a few fabrications and a few small cuts and you will not get a gap anymore.

but it looks good man lets get this done!!!

Its the second picture I posted on page 3. They said it is larger than the original pillar would have been because the use the original pillar and wrap it in the plastic, so its a little larger than the original. It should work fine though.

wouldnt you just be able to mount it overtop of the one you already have... kinda like a dual pod or does this have brackets to mount onto the frame of the car??

I did a quick test fit and it appears that's exactly what you can do, it even came with two screws with caps if that's what you decide to do. The only problem with that is that the top edge of the pillar would be overlapping the existing pillar which I'm sure could be remedied with a little sanding....like I said, the fact that my car is currently an auto st, I really won't even start fitting it until there's a turbo under the hood.

if you get a chance could you set the pillar over your stock one and take a pic of the top of it.. where it overlaps the stock one.. I really dont mind if its raised up at all.. it actually might give it kind of a neat look but wanna see if theres gaps or not....btw that sucks that they put holes in it frown.gif

edit I resized the photo from above

I did too, I just wish I had time to test fit it. Oh well, now my extensions have something to hang out with them on the shelf until I get the funds to get all the other things needed before I put everything in. Its so nice to see everything slowly coming together....I can't wait. biggrin.gif

I just got mine and I test fit it. It fits damn near perfect. It does stick out a little on the end where it meets the wind shield but thats no problem. I just can't wait to be able to hook it all up and have the car of my dreams once and for all.

It should take about 2 hours to dry biggrin.gif I have NEVER once had it take that long though wink.gif

I like to let it cool down some before I start messin with it though.. sure you have noticed that it heats up a little. so I usally give it about an hour before I start to mess around with

Well yeah chemical reaction = release of energy (heat). I havent done anything as extensive as yours so my fiberglass work has been down to fixing cracks in bumpers and molding scoops and shaving stuff...so it dries alot quicker just because theres alot less.

I hate fiberglass.
