Car audio troubles

Ok,

I let some asshole borrow my car and when i got it back my amp wasn't working. heres the deal.

THE AMP WON'T TURN ON

here is what i've tested.
That the ground is actualy good(did this by touching it to the power wire at which i got a spark

the power comin from the battery is good: did this by puttin a test light on it and got power

the remote wire is good: did this by using the test light and only got a flash if the radio was turned on

the amp is good: borrowed one of my friends and had the same problem.

Where I'm at now, if I hook everything up to the amp: remote, 12v, and ground no sound even comes out of my radio. I don't know what that means but am afraid to mess with it as I don't want to ruin the head unit.

any help greatly appreciated.

Wire the remote wire to the 12volt ignition wire, see if that works. The remote wire off my HU shorted, so thats what i had to do and it worked fine.
