What do you mean a loaded caliper? I've never heard that before. Do you mean a rebuilt/remanufactured caliper? If so....
Its not a bad idea to go that route but it isn't always necessary. It really depends on what you can find in the junkyard. Sometimes what you find is good, sometimes its not. The piston should slide smoothly and shouldn't have any scratches in it. |

Evil, did you ever decide if you were gonna make the rear conversion kit, who was it that was gonna make it? Was it you or Mike?

loaded caliper means that it comes with brake pads. I looked and it was way more expensive to buy loaded than individually. When I bought my rear conversion from TAP, 1 caliper turned out to be frozen. Since they didn't have any more, I bought a different one from car-parts. com. TAP reimbursed me, but buying individaully was way cheaper than loaded. Plus you know what brake pads you are gettting

It wasn't me that was going to offer a kit.
I definitely wouldn't get anything that included pads. Its bad to mix and match pads without knowing what you're doing and anything used you get will undoubtedly be crap. Remanufactured calipers should be readily available and will come with the hangers. The bad part is that you'll still need the park brake cables and the backing plates (and possibly the spindles). I dont' think mike actually offers the kit yet, I think its just on the website. I really don't see how its going to be feasible to make a kit and sell it. Its going to be expensive if theres any money to be made. I really think its just better if everyone goes to the junk yard and does it themselves. I know its hard to find junked celicas in some places, but there just aren't a lot of other feasible possibilities. |

You don't need the spindles. You can use the same ones from teh ST. ALso, I used the same parking brake cable from the ST. You will have to cut off a small ridge on the ST parking brake where it bolts up to the backing plate. WOrks just fine after that. I used a dremel. After that, just tighten the nut that under the center console. You WILL need the backing plates so the calipers can attach. Also, you will have to get GT brake lines that run from the calipers to the main line. I have those if you want them.
CAR-Parts.com is the best bet for sourcing parts |

I wasn't sure about that, thanks for clarifying. It is however, usually easier to just take the whole assembly if you're at the junkyard taking things apart. |
