Hey a buddy of mine has a 96 neon and i was looking under the hood and noticed that they have very little hood clearnce. That gave me an idea. I measured from one strut to the other and it was tha exact same as my 94 celica. so i ordered a neon strut bar off ebay for like 6 + 15s/h when i got all i had to do was take a rubber hammer and flaten it out a little and drill new hole in the brackets and it went on just fine. and I could really tell a difference. My car is lowered 4in so it pretty bouncy and stiff but when i added it i felt it tighen up the body roll even more. beats paying 200 later

I love how every one is like, humm, i can feel the dif, it feels so much tighter..... .. Yeah its not that much of a dif, im sure an enginer or real machanic could tell you that, new sway bars will make a dif of it, an how it feels, but strut braces dont change it much at all...... but good find i gues...

Sorry not tyring to rain on your car, an well at least i hate it, i mean you get all this extra dirt all over it....... wtf

I hate to say it but if the strut bar is flimsy enough that you can "take a rubber hammer and flaten it out a little" its probably not gonna do much frown.gif

...it was $6

when I said its not gonna do 'much' it was codeword for 'anything' I was just being nice

if you want to spend 21 dollars shipped for a flimsy piece of metal be my guest, but remember the old adage 'you get what you pay for'

ok i bought the full ring and second of all it took me prolly 2 hours pounding with a rubber hammer with all i have i felt like i was going to pass out before it barely cleared the hood. I payed like 25 shipped and it wasnt flimsy at all it was b*tch to bend that damn thing. lol

Wouldn't pounding on it and bending it kinda jeopardize the strength of the strut bar...therefore not helping? lol

i installed mine yesterday. i drilled two holes on each side, took me like 15 minutes, and slipped it on. no hammering involved, it cleared the hood perfectely.
i'll put a pic in my sig tomorrow. i got This One.
