Ok guys, Is this too good to be true?

http://www.wheelguyz.com/shop/browse.asp?M...DROP&KeepPage=1

Drop zone, has anybody heard about or got these? The springs are $89 and the Coil overs are $150.

Yeah, theyre not bad at all i hear....the guy who added the dropzone coilovers in the parts database apparently bought a pair and was happy with them, saying that GC's arent really worth the money compared to the dropzones. I'd sooner spend $150 for them than 400+ for GC, as long as they arent total crap.

I was leaning toward the springs for 80whatever. I wanted TRD's, but they are 200+ but i just don't know. I won't get coilovers because I don't want to get new shocks\struts. I like a smooth ride when ladys are with me. biggrin.gif

hehehe, yeah, i need new shocks anyway, thats the only reason i say the coilovers. I figure that nows the time to get those koni yellows ive always wanted installed. About the TRD springs though, i dont understand all the hype......i mean, sure, theyre probably great quality, but you might as well not have them for the tiny 1" drop it gives you. I dunno, if i went for springs i would sooner get Eibach sportlines or these dropzones for alot less, with more drop........But thats just me wink.gif

More drop for less $$$, how can you beat that?
Deffinetly get the DZ springs or coilovers. If you do get the coilovers you don't have to get new shocks/struts as long as you don't drop it below 2" i think.

Anybody know if that's true? Also, I figure the TRD were made for our cars, thus they would perform better. Do coil overs ever come undone and start droping lower and lower, know what I mean? plus I don't want to grind my struts. now to decide what springs to get.

I got the GC coilovers, yes I did have to grind the strut a little, and I got new KYB GR-2 struts. They ride alright, definately not as well as they should for the $600+ I paid for the set up, but its not bad. However, if I were to do it over, I would either save up for the JIC's or just buy springs and some nice struts, like Koni's. And no, I have never seen anyone's coilovers start to drop down, they usually lock one way or another.

That's why it always comes with 2 wrenches to lift/drop the car. So don't worry any about it dropping on you by itself.

what's better for springs.

Eibach, TRD DZ

Think quality, performance and price. (although nobody has DZ's)

from what i hear the TRD's are actually made by eibach..lol the eibach's themselves are REAL nice, i have them (sportlines) myself and am real happy with the drop although it isnt THAT low the roads around here are GODAWFUL. and the handleing is awsome, which was my biggest concern when i got them. i didnt wanna have to deal with the creaking poping grinding and other stuff accociated with coilovers. i havent heard anything worth saying about the DZ's although IMO you usually get what u pay for..i think intrax also makes springs for our cars, and the drop is 1.75" if i remeber right. i think a couple guys around might have em..
all i know is i am waiting to hear what oreo has to say about the JIC's...MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM:::::::::::DROOOOOLLLL::::::::::: biggrin.gif

Man it's gonna suck for you if you decide to get a body kit and new rims. You better hope that you don't end up scraping. With just a 1.5" drop i doubt that you will. But you might live in an area that has crap ass roads and you would have been better off with a 1" drop instead.

your right nepias that is a problem around here...the roads are EXTREMELY bad around here, so as far as bodykits are concerned im pretty screwed. although we may have found a solution with the jdm extentions that tim bought and is planning on producing. but yea, the invader or zyper are pretty much out of the question in this area..i'd kill those in a day. lol biggrin.gif

man if i had one of those kits it wouldnt last a day. seriously. the roads are so bad.i actually bought a combat bumper last year, and ended up selling to tim (k2), cuz i was afraid to kill it at STOCK hieght! lol , well actually there were other issues with the combat, it was a knockoff and quite thin, although i wasnt sure about it at the time..(i paid 150 for it, so i couldnt complain..lol)now that tim has it, he says that it definetly needs reinforcment..so i am glad that i didnt waste money on it, cuz looking back if i woulda put it on, i prolly wouldnt even had made it home..lol..anyway...thanks for the compliments, she's getting there.. biggrin.gif

not sure where MA was ranked in US's roads(by state)
but PA was like 48th for quality.
It's not too much of a problem
i have the Erebuni 404A front lip(or Zyphr(sp)) and Sportslines.
yea i scratched slightly here n there, and there's many driveways i can't go in
but i didn't buy the back, and if i ever want to turn around, i back into a driveway(but i gotta watch side skirts)

with just the springs and side skirts, little curb/drop-off(crappy driveways in other words) can make you scratch...and it isn't pretty frown.gif
