nope apparently toyota put it on cos of the considerable negative pressure produced at high speed

It wasnt just put on the GT4 i have the UK spec GT and i have it as well , as far as i know its there to stop the hood from flexing at hight speed may be due to the negative pressure that uzthedentist mentioned..

I really really really doubt that's the reason why. I know that someone said that it helped do that... but I don't think that's why. LOL.

I drive 80 MPH (roughly 129 KPH) everyday. Even before I got my ST205 hood with the hood spoiler, this wasn't really an issue. It might have shook while I was driving, but it wasn't an issue where I'd notice it. If this really was an issue, I'd imagine Toyota putting the bonnet spoiler on all model Celica's... not just the ST205's and whatever model's they came with. As stated on ST205.net, it was added to keep the hood from flexing. This site is pretty resourceful and a lot of the information comes from Richard Doig and the peeps at GT4OC.com.

yeah its direct bolt on. If you have the GT4 hood there should be holes in the back of the hood for the hood spoiler.
If you can't get a good price from the UK I can get one imported from Japan for real cheap to the UK. |
