Alright, so I was driving around one night, with my friend in the car, and all of a sudden my sub stops working. So I think to myself "alright, it's done this before and since I have a short remote wire and the sub isn't bolted, teh remote wire came unconnected again." So I go to check the remote wire on the sub, and it's fine. I check it on the back of the stereo and it's fine. And yet my amp still doesn't turn on. I check the power and ground cables, those are fine. There's absolutely no way I could have blown my amp considering I don't turn the volume up even half way. I have a 1000 watt Kenwood amp w/ an MTX thunder 8000 12" sub and my amp isn't even turned all the way up. The only things I haven't checked are inside the sub enclosure and then checked to see if my car deck wires are going bad of if my car deck is going bad. Anyone think they might know what's going on?! And by the way, I checked my fuse in the front to and that's fine as well.

In a related story, I was riding w/ my friend, a few days after my sub stopped working, and only the left side speakers of my car are working!!! I checked the balance on the deck and it was centered. The right side speakers worked again later when I turned the car back on, but what the hell is up w/ my ishn? Am I having shortages?!

I would say pull out your deck, .. you might have a bad install, loose wires or such, .. for your sub, if all power and ground wires, as well as the fuses are fine, its probley the wires inside the box.

Somthing kinda similiar happened to me awhile ago. What happen was that one little strand of wire coming from the power wire was touching the remote connector on the amp causing the amp to always be on but no bass coming out of it. I would just be sure that none of the other wires are touching anything at all other than what its supposed to be toughing. Try taking out all the wires from the connecters, re twisting them and put them back in.
