What do you guys think? Now that I have a job I can actually save up money for this. I went to my Toyota dealership a while ago and they said for all the parts they can get it would be around $1100 shipped.

Since you want US to make the decision for YOU... I say... keep your car stock... then you won't have such a hard time deciding on what to do to your car... Just my $0.02...

dude. asking if the GT-4 front end looks good or if people like it are perhaps the most trite of questions. a vast majority of us like it and think it looks good.
dont get me wrong bojangles, im behind ya all the way and i think ur a pretty cool guy, but a better post would've been "**** YEA! GETTIN THE GT-4 FRONT END!" i dunno, i think that has a better ring to it.

and that po comment is just stupid. i know a few cops and some of them have the meanest cars you've ever seen. they were actually incorporating them into their work, drivin around in their cars while on duty and trying to race ppl then flipping on lights. then they got ****ed for entrapment, so they dont do that anymore. either way, **** the police. biggrin.gif

if the only options are GT4 look or stock, everyone is going to say GT4... What are the other options? Are you interested in any other kit?

Ive looked at all the other kits and not only does the gt4 look better than all of them, its also rare to find in the US. Thats another reason to have it smile.gif

I guess toyotaworld would be my best bet according to what Ive read on the forums... I did a few parts searches on their site and they dont have the hood bulge, where can I get that?

the gt4 look is the hot ****...just look at my, pressure2, BlackCelicaGT94 profiles and make your decision.

i think the best part about getting the gt4 look, is that its not a cheap fiberglass kit...its oem, so its a good investment.

A piece of **** on wheels looks good black, it just does that for some reason. They have awesome cars regarless, but what Im saying is keep it silver, you'll be able to apreciate the lines so much more! And dont even think about doing it, just do it! ITs really the only body mod that actually looks sweet on the celica.

And dude, theres hundreds of silver and black gtfour pics on the net, they all look the same so instead of someone wasting hours doing a ps job, just look for a pic! I have a bunch on my comp even. God theres 2 in this topic! paste your rims on them!

dont worry they can get the bulge... wink.gif ...if your not getting the fogs, i suggest getting the little grills that go in the fog light holes, it looks much better with them in. here are the pt #s

53113-20180 lower radiator grill LH

i will agree that the vents and all definetly stand out more on a white car. they get lost on a black car. Still looks good though

My dad called the dealership.. they quoted him 1121.05 for everything but the 3 hood vents and the turn signals... so with those fog light grilles it will be around 1180... how much would it be for the turn signals and vents? Someone told me last night that it would be around $200 or $300 for the vents, but how about the turn signals?

I know I just brought this topic back from the dead but I am still planning on doing this and actually have a front end lined up and all I need is a few hundred more dollars, it has everything but the two grills on the front bumper and the metal piece with the rubber that goes in between the hood and bumper, does anyone know where I can get that piece?

My 2p, put on the c-one or the varis front bumper on, it will make your car a lot more aggressive, without making it look like something it isnt., and not many people will have it so youll have the rarity value. Putting a GT4 front end isnt so bad if you have a 3sgte conversion but if youre doing it for looks only then youre just as bad as those honda 'rice boys' that put a 'type r' sticker on the side of their 1.4litre civic

I am planning on doing the 3sgte in the future so it will eventually have the power to back up the looks.

And I am getting everything except the two grilles and rubber things for $800 shipped, and I got a $180 quote for those parts shipped smile.gif

Right but until then which will probably take a while youll have a car that looks like a gt4 which has a 0-60 of 9 and is fwd.

Im not having a go at you but using the cumulative definitions people have made on this board that is pure rice.

Its akin to:
Putting a type r sticker on a 1.4 l civic
Putting an evo front on a lancer so it looks like an evo
Putting an sti bonnet on a subaru impreza sport (na)
Putting GT4 raiser blocks on a non-gt4 so at high speed you create drag and downforce to the rear (non-driving) wheels

Dont do it mate really

First of all, go for it man.
Second of all, putting the GT4 front on a USDM Celi isn't rice. The GT4 is the ultimate evolution of the Celica and us poor schmucks in the US never got it. So in order to reach the peak in Celica design we have to go through the trouble of importing the parts and installing them. Ricers just buy parts for models that are already available in the US because they don't want to pony up for the real thing. We can't get the real thing (or it's nearly impossible), so we have to rely on kits and mods to approximate the GT4. For many, including mysef it is the first step toward a swap, or even a full conversion.

ComaDave

I understand your opinion uz but I agree with comadave. I dont think people will think my car to be rice at all when they see that it has gt4 stuff, I think they will like it a lot and aknowledge that is a rarity in the U.S. And not to mention, it just looks hellagood smile.gif

People with GSR's put type R front lips, and side skirts, ect. on their car all the time. And 240's put silvia fronts on their cars too. But then again, i think u have the better engine (3s, or sr20) its no biggy.

go for it, just be very careful when and where you drive, because if your GT4 hood or bumper gets damaged you'll have to go back to your stock hood and bumper.

Ive heard some other things that have to be done when you get the gt4 stuff, like extend your hood latch and cut the bar behind the bumper?

yup you'll need to extend your stock latch about 1/2 inch, and your rebar will basicly need to be cut to half its thickness to fit...

Actually you just need to cut the front corners off the bumper. This picture isn't exact but it's close. I just got a metal-cutting blade for my circular saw to cut it.

And this is what my hoodlatch looks like... I don't remember the exact measurement, I found it here on the board though.
