Well i did not had something to do and i so i figured i would post the pics of my damaged GT4 before i repaired it last year. What do you think? I brought a whole roof /cabin and replaced the damaged part. I also replaced hood, left door, fenders.

Can you believe that the airbags did not deploy?

btw, i got a cabin/roof with a sunroof the second time around. I was going to fix it with a sheet metal odf the roof but the damage on the pillars was so big that i prefer to get a cabin/roof and exchange/ cut at the middle of the pillars

the file keeps asking for a password

air bags tend to deply in a forward backwards jerking motion.. My airbags deployed in a 15 mph accident.. i got rear-ended and my car hit the car infront. that jerking motion deployed my airbags and shattered my windsheild. frown.gif

That damage is not that bad at all. If you saw my car then i bought it.... smile.gif) The guy that repaired myne celi, told me that our cars, if they have side impact (into the doors or into the rear panel) they are extremly hard to repair, and if it is done, the gaps at the dors and etc wount be equal anymore..

If you could only see what here people do for living, what car they buy repair and sell to Russia... Somtimes it is even hard to belive that car can be repairible, but after 2 month it is like new, and no one could ever tell that it was roled over 10 times, and there was no plain place on that car...

As for example, my friend bought this RSX, and that damage is like we call here LIGHT damage, it will be repaired like in 2 or 3 weeks and it will cost him about 2K$ including parts and everything:

It has NO suspension part on the left side, everything is riped off, but that just the small part of that damage...

biggrin.gif

Sometimes then you guys post pics of your damaged cars, and the insurance total them, i think, ****.... it not even a damage, it can be repaired like in a 2 weeks. and it would cost no more then 300$..... So, everything is different here smile.gif

yea doggy the USA is a lazy country.. we don't like to spend to much time on anything.. so it's just simpler to just total a car and get something esle

Yea, airbags are very expensive to repair (can't imagine why though-you would expect the car company would find an inexpensive way to repair them by now). I can see your point doggy. We used to do things like that a few years back but the goverment now prohibits that as they were loosing a lot of money on custom duties (people would bring S series mercs and pay $10,000 duties instead of $100,000 + )

i am sorry for the password thing i will correct it.

try this

GT4 repair process

btw the guy in the picture is not me but the guy who repaired the roof.

And doggy the only reason why i posted this thread was for our friends in the states to really see that you can repair just about everything.

Yes. There was no real damage though. It had to be put on there to check if there was a problem with the chassis anywhere. It was quite interesting to see them cut the pillars and put the new roof on and then weld everything. You see, all these must be measured and remeasured 100 times as every milimiter counts. Overall i am quite happy with the result but it could be much better.

You see, its always better to have everything done perfectly and maybe pay a bit more, than go to a friends friend of a friend to save some bucks but in the end they do not do a perfect job as they were not making as much profit as they would from complete strangers. frown.gif

Still asking for password... And Neoklis, i was thinking doing the same (posting some pics, and letting guys know here what can be done from some cars biggrin.gif)

And about your pictures, why dont you upload then to your server instead of puting them into word file??

That reminds me of my friend who took "half-cuts" to a whole new level biggrin.gif

He Found a free 1974 celica with heavy frontal damage, bought a $200 front clip from a wreckers and chopped the front off the car with an oxy torch, and welded the whole front cut back onto the body in front of the windscreen. Then got a bunch of front panels from the clip and the wreckers and put her back together biggrin.gif There was bugger all work for him to do those cars are so easy to work with!

It was a pretty classic repair job did it in 1 1/2 days!

Go to the second link. Hanyo opened it with no problem.

The reason for not posting the pics directly is that i do not have them any more. I just saved the word doc with them and i do not know any way to take them off the word doc and save them separately. sorry for the inconvinience.
