I used to have this Corvette. It was sooooo fast, but every other day something went wrong with it. Do you swapers find that to be the case? can you tell the car wasn't meant to have that engine in it? Oil leaks, bad idle, rough starts, other odd problems you might have? I was just curious. I'd also Love to see some time slips and Dyno runs. I was over at Newcelica.org looking at their dyno charts and time slips and was kinda disgusted.

So,I asked.

Thanks

Jon

My car has trouble starting when i havent used it for a day or two. It just needs an extra 5 cranks before it turns over. IDK why? I'm leaking nothing. I think the fact that everythings been changed and custom done is why problems arise. Other stuff just happens and will happen to any car, its 10yrs old, stuffs going to go wrong.

My car has trouble starting right up too. If it has not been run for a few days it likes to not start right up. my 5s never did that? after the 3s starts up it idles bad for about 5-6 seconds and then is all good. dont know why thta happens.
other than that i am happy with the big difference it made. and i hope nothing is bad with the engine since i dont know how it was driven b4 i got it. mainly hoping that the engine was not beat on by the previous owner?????

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

I never have problems starting mine. 3S motor is fun stuff. The pain in the ass is the 3-4 months following the swap when everything has to be replaced. Glad that's over with!

1. I'm extremely happy with my car.
2. No major problems, just lil things that are fixes in 1-2 hours max.
3. My car is a daily driver.

I don't have a swap but I'll reply anyway. My Celica starts with only one turn..even after I turbocharged it. My fast Supra takes a while to start. So I think that just my modding a car it'll freakin' start acting up...it's just Murphy's law.

lift bolts. if you buy one, have them inspected immediately. i remember there being a TSB about this a while ago.

with the 3s swap ...anything and everything can break...the best part is that it will probably be your own fault.

ill tell you this....when you are doing the swap, you feel like you are raping your car. every little part of it has to come out. every screw, hose, axel, brake, crossmember, suspention, etc. its a lot of work especially if you have never done a swap before.

it will be all worth it when the car is back on the road....but if i had to do it all over again a 2nd time...i would probably just choose to buy a factory trubo car.
