hey everyone. I got swap trouble! If i dont get this figured out in the next couple weeks then I may lose my sponsor (corbeau) and i worked very hard to get them. Please help with any ideas. heres whats going on. i put a 2nd gen jdm 3s into a 6 gen gt. I had my harness built by Mike (qatar11) The car will start and idle, low with all vac hooked up, normal with the main vac at the top most part of the air intake manifold un hooked. there are NO engine codes. i cant rev the car only once in a great while and thats rarely. when it does rev it only revs to 3000. i have tested the following with multimeters accordingly with the bgb.all the following test good tps, isc, coil, plug wires (except for coil wire came out bad, one should be here tomorrow), afm, knock, speed, distributor, new cap & rotor, new plugs, head was cleaned shaved, 3 angle valve seating, new head bolts, all new gaskets, new water pump, oil pump, water lines, the only thing left to test is the tvis, well anyway, i cant rev and i can let it idle, pull injector wires 2 and 4 and it changes nothing, i replace all 4 injectors, checked fuel rail, all is good, inj's are to the correct pins on the ecu, not sure if the distributor, fuel resist pack, or ignitor are wired correct as they are diffent from us books, i have a friend with the same engine and we tried his fuel resist pack, ignitor, coil, coil wired, just about everything please help

1, cant rev
2, unplug inj 2 and 4 with no change
3, tested every thing but tvis,
4, fuel press at 37lbs

I think a couple people have had this problem and I think it was due to ignitor issues. Perhaps yours isn't wired correctly. Hopefully one of the 3S guys who did their wiring will see this and can help you out. smile.gif

Perhaps u have a bad ground with the ignitor. What im confused about is if your talking about fuel injectors or spark plugs. Because you really cant just take them out w/e u want it requires taking out the fuel rail and stuff. If your talking about spark plugs, thats a different story. If you havent already do a spark test on each spark plug. If 2 and 4 arent firing, its an ignition problem.

Also, there are 2 "resistor packs". Theres the solenoid which is for the fuel injectors, and the other for the fuel pump.

fuel injectors, i am unplugging the harness from them while the car is running, and the spark i can test while car is running by using a timing light with a conductive sensor.

Possible, but not likely. i would love to just buy another ecu and try it out, but they made soooooo many different ecu's for the 3sgte that i am not sure what i am looking for, plus it would have to be a jdm ecu..

I have to agree with Coomer on this problem right now. Mike (Qatar11) has done numerous amounts of harness for people on the boards and i think just about everyone has the problem that they CANT rev past 3k-4k rpms. MOst of the time is because the 5s ignitor was still being used. As soon as the 3s ignitor was put on most people fix that issue.

As for any other problem what im going through right now would be FUEL i either have a bad injector or a really dirty one. If not that then i have to check the fuel pump. See if thats F***ed up.

Anyway good luck

Almost Boosting,
David
