Just like dyno, I dont think any of the 5sfte guys have been to the track yet.. But I think o8's about right for 15 with 6 psi.. probably high 14s with 8; low 14s/high 13s with 12

unless you did a bunch of **** i dont think your engine is even going to hold more then 9-10 psi with out blowing somthing. i would also say around a 15 .. with out blowing up your motor |

1/8 is 1/2 of a 1/4, that would add up to about an 18.4

I think you would have to do alot to the engine to get that power.. like internals an all.. if its stock internals.. im gunna guess around 160hp |

Uhm, no. Stock internals at 5-6spi should be around 200; and perfectly safe on the engine. Stock engine internals will have trouble at around 12 psi; THATS WHY THE TOYOTA ECU HAS A FUEL CUT AT 12 PSI FOR OUR ENGINES |

Man the 7afe makes 160whp on stock internals/fuel with that boost (dyno proven), so the larger displacement motor with more horsepower to start with "should" make atleast 190-200whp depending on tune and set up. |

ok, you seriously think you can get 200 whp, what are you smoking, that is going to be like, 240 hp... I doubt that, until some one thinks they can prove me wonrg, your all smoking somthing. first off, a j-spec engine, with performance heads and a better compression ratio, better internals, and tuned to runn power, not efficancy, only gets 220 hp at the crank... good luck guys, an dont be diapointed. |

Look up zipstrip's. . . . i think he posted dyno slips on celica.net. If a car that dyno's at 95 wheel horsepower stock; dyno's at 160whp(tq was a lot higher) running 8psi, then the 5sfe that is suppose to have 130 stock horse power will dyno at 8psi atleast higher, displacement of the engine does add into the fact, ya know?
Also check out the mr2 boards, a few of those guys have turbo'ed their 5s with around the 190-200whp range and not a lot was done to their motors. I've been on both celica.net and here for a long time and i've noticed if it's not a 3sgte then it gets no respect, when a lot of people have done amazing things with the stock motors, Sure not in the celica, but the corolla(7a) and mr2/camry (5sfe). And just to add to it visit rippmods, their super charger makes 180-200whp depending on how you tune it, Stock motor. *Edit* Just so ya don't have to look for the dyno. I hope zip doesn't mind.

Yea, so a 5s should dyno atleast 30whp more, putting it at atleast 190. I don't know why i am defending the 5s, I drive a st, lol.

so, now exactly what is done to that 7afe... you guys are just talking about slapping on a turbo.. an someone said 700 bucks.. yeah right.. .. maybe if you guys were to swap out the heads.. keep in mind, that the 5s, an 7a still have a ****ty deisgned head for a non performance engine.

Actually, the design of the 7a head is rather good for boost. you can read more into that on club4ag.com,,, or net or wherever.
I think it was DGperformance that was putting down such mass power with his turbo 5s... but he got greedy and blew it to pieces. And the 3s makes that power safely and with long life and small displacement. the 5s makes the power with shorter life, higher compression, and larger displacement. and yes, every bit of displacement you can get helps. The 5s is a capable motor. and with that 220ish whp. you are making some Rompin Stompin honda bashin torque. |

Please Read what i wrote again, zipstrips motor was stock, NO FUEL mods, NO head work. Yea i completely forgot about dg's car, his was a 5s as well. Btw the way i have around 900 bucks into the turbo kit i have for the 7a complete list of items: ihi rhb5 turbo (small and quick spool on the 7afe can boost to 25psi)=150 (with rebuild) walbro fuel pump (100 bucks) 4agze pistons (125) jgsturbo- manifold(150) modified probe injectors (from turbo model) (100) arp head bolts ( i don't have receipt, but wasn't a lot) ebc= (used one) (100) guages (boost and afr)= (80) for a grand total of 805 bucks with the head bolts (only other thing done was thicker head gasket, before i ever started to turbo. the other 90 is random small thing you need. i am awaiting intercooler and bov Just the above listed parts should be good for reliable 8-10psi, If the car is not driven to death and poorly maintained. You can make 200 on stock internals easily, and for around 1500 dollars.
If you spend 3000 dollars and upgrade the internals with lower compression pistons, some head work; a decent turbo, nice exhaust, maybe a stroker kit or a rebuilt block, 250 should be well within reach |
