i was at work the other day working on this maxama. i had to change the bumper and repaint it so i did but i kept the old bumper to make a custom bumper. here is a pic of what it will look like. i have already made a fiberglass copy of the maxama bumper. and i am now making a copy of the 96 bumper so i can mold them together. im also kinda wondering if i should put a grill or not. so tell me what ya think. im not good at chopping up photos so take it easy

haha.. that's my lanky ass right next to my car..

i like the first pic.

the second one has one too many vents. i'd say do it, if you're good with fiberglass. it would be unique, to say the least.

well i bought a gallon of resin and about 24sq feet of fiberglass. i used all the fiberglass and about half the resin, i still need to buy some body filler , fiberglass filler and more fiberglass. its not that expensive to do, just time comsuming. and if anyone is trying to do this dont buy bondo(im antibondo) buy everlast body filler cheaper , you get more and thats the stuff they use in body shops

alls he made was a custom vent... he took his bumper, molded a maxima bumper to it, and put in his vent.... he didnt make just a whole new front...

Very nice. I love it. I'd like it better if the Bottom part didnt have that slit. You should make that one big opening and lose the little skinny piece. Still kickass though. Great custom work. Love the vent up top too.

update outside of the bumper is done, well i need to do some minor work nuttin big(fix the grill shave down some holes). i would of been done but i steped on it by mistake and had to fill up the dent with insulation foam., im going to add some more fiberglass to make it stronger and get some oem Maxima fog lights . and probly going to buy a stillen lip for the bumper since the bottom of it is the maxima. or just make a carbon fiber lip and i think i am done,

lol 24 hours i finished sanding, took about 6 hours and some spot putty and more fillers. would of took less but my da died. i dought i think i will sell this one , i might eventually sell them but everyone would be differnt. this way no one had the same thing. im more thinking of just selling the peices unfinished becasue if i finish the bumpers i will charge alot because of all the labor i have to put in it.

I think everyone on the board right now is confused as hell by that statement. The guy that replied after you assumed you meant "dad", and myself, as well as... well everyone else... is only saying "wtf" right now. What are you talking about?

Anyways lol.. car looks great, can't wait to see the final product.

i think that wuold look sweet. one thing though if u put that over the top you are probobly going to have to find some lexan or plexi (lexan prob b/c it is better) and cover the bottom half...or else it'll just catch air and end up cracking...it'll look sweet though how every you end up doing it.
