Sorry guys, I tried searching for the original (which I also posted in) and couldn't find it. Someone a while ago created a how-to on installing blue led's into the dash to create blue light instead of green. Id like to do this project this weekend so I need a how-to on:
1. A/C Controls 2. Clock 3. Key ring 4. Gauges (actually coomer has this how-to listed so I dont need it). Any help is very nice. I'll be your best friend. |

There's a how-to on changing the color of your climate controls using paint as well...I haven't tried it with blue, but I bet it would look great.

What type of paint was used. Same paint one would use to smoke the lights? If the interior lights were to be painted blue...wouldnt the green LED blend in with the blue and make a blue green color?

I think you'd want to use a bright royal blue color, and use one or two very light coats. Some places may end up either tinted green or too dark to be able to tell that it's lit up(That happened to me with red.) -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Thanks! Sapperk is the member I was looking for. I'd do the paint idea Chris but I really want something that can be changed later as well. Not that I would, but paint seems to permanent. As for my new best friend, Jgreening, he's gonna realize that the even a 2nd gen 3S wont push a heavy convert in front of my baby. ![]() |

If I had my car I would say "Yes". I am thinking we should shoot for a nice late September meet at Starved Rock state park. Its near LaSalle, IL - about an hour south of Rockford. Alot of the Illinois peeps said they would be interested. I suggest September 25. If you are up for it, I will post it in the meet section.
P.S. Its a JDM 2nd gen running 14 p.s.i. ![]() This post has been edited by jgreening: Aug 10, 2004 - 10:22 AM -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

I'm there -
![]() Also for all you LED masters. I looked at pctoys.com for LEDS. They have both "Super Bright" 3mm and 5mm. The note for both is 470ohm resistors on a 12v power supply. In DJvinny's how-to, he states only a 220ohm resistor is needed. Also, do I need to install resistors for the 3mm or are the on-board ones ok for the job. I dont wanna fry anything and I dont wanna redo this project 2 weeks after install. For the key ring - does a 3mm work there. I'm unsure about what to replace the current light with. Thanks for the help guys. EDIT: 2nd gen 5S running 0psi with 135 ROARING ponies under the hood. I really dont think you want to mess with them. They're unstoppable. hmmmm....with a name like turboinduction, I assumed you had some upgrades - my mistake. As for the race, you can ride shotgun if you like.

Turboinduction came from my AWD Talon and AWD Eclipse. However, rival jgreening, my dream of the turbo 5S will come. (insert evil laugh here). |
