I saw someone meantioned they saw Celica lambo doors on eBay... and right then people jumped on it claming scam. I agree - too good to be true.

However.

I called the 800 number of mmotorsports and spoke to Mark. He said that they deal with companies all over (and they even sell 3sGTEs) and the company that handles the lambo doors is www.extremedoors.com. I called them and found that the Celica kit was new for august. I called Mark again and asked told him about the forum. He said his company wouldn't mind me putting together a group buy and/or sponsership on the product. I'm going to ship him a picture of my baby and see what he thinks.

Is there people that would be down on a group buy?

ON the ebay page i posted the Buy IT Now price was $900. So unless we get like 30 or so people i dont think that the price will go down much. Even if it would go down to $700 i dont think that most of the members here have that kind of money. I was kind of thinking about it but $900 is something i rather save for my engine.

900 is not a bad price. 700 is even better. I personally think they are easily worth at least 500. there built heavy duty, all welded on pieces are first pressed into the body then welded.

well the guy told me to gather some people (maybe a list of those seriously interested) and shoot him a call back. Under your list please include a link to a NICE picture of your car. Just one and make it look good. This is for a sponsership idea. Thanks guys. I'm at work and cant access my pictures, but I'll add my link later tonight. smile.gif

Price is, well, less than 900. Figuring thats what he is currently charging. Again, this is moreorless... a INTEREST gauge. Your not sending money yet. To get that awesome price, I'd like to tell him I've got 20+ people seriously interested in purchasing the kit.

I called the guy yesterday but he wasn't in. I'm actually in the works for my own business license. If that goes through I can buy them at complete wholesale and of course sponser/discount quite a few of you guys. I'll keep you posted. It'll be about a week before I finish it up.

The actual site is www.extremedoors.com which resales them at 1350!!
He is selling them at $900 shipped. So there is obvious markup.
I'll either sponser or just makeby if its a 6GC member.

Nah, there cool as hell. I like to leave my door open every chance I get. Like at gas stations. The best is when your picking up a date. I had some sealing problems
at first, but I just slotted the plates that connect to the door. That fixed it.
1300 is too much to pay. I say buy and decahs on ebay for about 700, and mod them to fit.

hey check out this lambo conversion. its a one piece design and it has better qualities then the Decah kit.

also at the bottom of the page it says wholesale inquaries are welcome.

GT Factory Lambo Kit

they have a cool video that you can watch too

plus they only sell a universal kit for $999 on Ebay and you have to drill the holes yourself.

check them out for a wholesale price though maybe it will be cheaper?

i like the diablo kit better it seems to be the right thing for our cars since you just drill your own holes........you can insure exact fit .....plus the fact that they don't "butterfly" and look completely straight is the most appealing thing.....judges will give more points for that

well i'm gonna try for the extremedoors.com kit. Reason being is that it is made for the Celica. No universal, no civic kit modifications, just bolt right on. Again, give me to the end of the week. I have a couple days off next week wink.gif

its at the same place. I'm already aware of the 100 degree conversion. If you look at the 300ZX in the pictures at extremedoors.com you'll see it. At first I thought it was photochopped but I guess thats real. Amazing.

the only thing thats stupid is you have to buy that converter to make the doors go any higher. WTF what a waste of money for that they should just make them with teh 100* angle instead of makeing you waste more damn money.

There are going to problems with the doors opening up alot. 1st is going to be the actual inner door panel hitting. I dont think they will allow the doors to go all the way up, unless you cut into the door panel. Mine WILL HIT depending on how much I swing the door out. For this reason, I am the only one that will open and close the passenger door. I got to push it out a bit and the push it down. I also noticed that someone said they were going to drill their own holes. Not recommended at all. Its thin sheetmetal that has a reinforced plate that the latches screw in. I had to make my own plates, then slot them and weld them on to the latches. Dont let these problems distract you, they are workable.

QUOTE (madmods @ Aug 28, 2004 - 1:08 AM)
Dont let these problems distract you, they are workable.

with all that bull**** just get the GT vert doors and they are adjustable so you dont hit the panels, plus they are 1 piece not 2 but i dont think the kit comes with extended wires for your mirrors, im not sure because maybe you dont have to have the extended wires?

I love the look of the doors all the way up. Look at my profile and see the picture from behind. My inner door panel does hit. The mirror wires, actually all wiring is not a problem. I did not have to extend, but extending is easy. I cant answer if the extra adapter will work. i would buy it. The doors look bitchn straight up!

went to city hall yesterday and found out the glory of starting your own business! woo hoooo. Its cheap enough, but to make sure your tough enough for the job, they give you 50000 papers to fill out. Most of which I'll do this weekend and hand in eariler next week after labor day.
Looks good though, I'll keep you posted.

Updates!

Called the Dept of Revenue today - w00t! Papers will be filled soon and then my license. The day it comes is the day I will get a wholesale connection with extremedoors.com. And thus make a nice group buy here for savings for all you 6gc'rs. In the time being, can someone go through and make a list of people who are serious. I dont need links in the list this time. Thanks, im getting busy.

I will warn everyone, getting a business license isn't an overnight thing. It'll be a couple weeks. Save your monies, and I'm gonna get the guy who bought this kit to post more about it in here for our pleasure.

turboinduction, how much do you think the GB will reduce the price compared to the Ebay price (900$)?

and how much do you think it'll cost for the 100degree kit?

Well i have some interesting news and a few points to make!
First The kit extreme doors will provide swings i think at a 45* angle if im not mistaken? then it is made just for our cars, where as the Aerokit.com is a universal kit which holds a 300lb door, plus if you were to sell your car you can remove the kit and place on your new car, plus it opens at a 90* angle!
So i guess what im asking, what does the ED kit hold in weight?
And would we be able to use for a new car?

I mean for a $100 diff, im not sure what the better buy would be?
Thanks,
DJ MC

DJ, I'm sure a "made for Celica" kit will be better than "universal." Of course, I could be wrong. This kit also comes in 2 degrees - 45* and 100* for a little more. You can ask Rob how his 45* kit is going if you'd like. I haven't heard anymore on the license yet, but I'll call tomorrow for an update to let people know. As for when I need the money.... well chances are I'd probably just be a reseller. Meaning, its not gonna make much differnce to me if its 100 kits or just 1 kit. I'd like a GB for things to be much easier, but I'm sure I can work something out if you cant make the GB.

hey just wandering how things were going, i need to know what my time limit it is, i just found out about the cf rear hatch and am more interested in that right now, so its not looking real good on me getting this, will this be a one time thing or will i be able to get these in like 6-9 months, i am guessing its not one time if your spending time and money on getting a lisc.

Just an update:

I'm going to my accountant tomorrow around 2:00. He's going to finish off all the legal paperwork so my business can start. I was going to do a sole propritorship, but have changed my mind into a LLC. Which means a little more work. Once the LLC is in full swing, I'll contact that business along with many others for wholesale rights. In turn, I'll have a month by month group buy on a certain product. First of course will be the vertical doors. I'll keep all posted.

Rob has mentioned that the doors didn't raise high enough yet, and needed a bit more tweeking before being able to go higher.

it looked a little hard to get out of, but im sure he'll figure out a way around it

either way, i'd personally think that a kit for the calica is better, takes a lot less work, and is worth the money...i'd imagine it having a better chance to work on a new car with some fabrication skills because they will have to take into account no frame over the window, AND a close curved fender.

Update time:

Business went into effect as of yesterday. My new name is

Shift Motorsports

I should get my FEIN, Tax ID, Seller's Permit, and WEIN within this next week before friday. So HOPEFULLY, by friday I can contact that business to set up my first wholesale agreement.

Actually now that I think of it, question for all of ya.

Besides the obvious vertical doors, are there any other products that I can look into for a group buy as well. Something easy. I'm going to try contacting Toyota for OEM parts (like projectors, etc) and see where they are at. Name some stuff that you'll want people. smile.gif
