Here is the story guys. My mechanic really recommends me venting my hood.
Has anyone done the GT4 front end conversion on a vert? I am also curious how you folks think it would look on my car. I would also be interested in any other ideas about getting a vented hood. Any cool looking aftermarket vents out there that you think I should know about? Remember, I am looking for something unique but understated.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

I think the GT-Four front end would look awesome on your car! Or since you're getting a kit, you could get the C-One replica front end and modify the top to line up with just the ST205 hood. wink.gif I don't know if the C-One replica is your idea of a "clean" kit though.

Why does your mechanic strongly suggest venting your hood? You shouldn't suffer from heat soak with a front mount intercooler.

I think its more for engine longevity. The engine compartment will get very hot with the 3s in it and no vents.

Here are my current thoughts:

Option 1: GT4 hood and C-one bumper for GT4, TRD (dealer option) sides, and OEM rear extensions. Cost about $2500

Option 2: Vent my stock hood, C-one knockoff bumper for ST204, TRD sides, and OEM rear extensions. Cost about $1100.

What kind of a vent would you use for option two?

I am not sure. I am looking for ideas but I want some sort of screen or screens to be painted black. I am really leaning toward painting my car a pearl slate gray with black trim.

I would suggest to keep your bumper, put the oem extensions all around and get the C-one replica hood the have on the b/s section. That way if you dont like it, you are not behind much and you can sell everything and get the money to start all over.
