Ive noticed that when i drive to college everyday that my idle is different every 5 minutes. sometimes its 800 like normal then it will go to 1000 sometimes it will be 1100 which is basicly clutch engagement rpm.

when it was at 1100 today i reved to 1500 and it dropped to 800 then bounced right back up to 1100.

anyone know what i can do to solve this. is something clogged.

I had this too. Mine was cause the thottle cable was just a tad to tight and would get stuck. I could pull the gas pedal up with my toe and it would drop in RPM's.

my prelude did that. i think it has something to do with the eingine being cold or it would do it when it was cold outside. sometimes it would be around 1800 rpms. but it would go down when i put it in drive

It can be everything from the weather, cold engine, hot engine.. gas type used.. unless its doing it out of controle its most likly fine.. the comp should adjust acording to how or what condition the engine is beeing ran in. .

My old CRX had the same problem, as well as many problems..but we will stick with this one. I replaced the throttle cables, as well as the carbuerator, spark plugs, It ran fine for a month or 2, then it started doing it again...Then i bought my Celica from my brother, and im much happier, lol

Also, i believe the 179k miles on the engine could have a slight chance of that problem...84 horses is a beast eh

I'm am having the same problem right now, and a friend of mine told me it was the airintake temp sencer. Could this be it? I'd really like to know for sure, because the auto parts place I deal with sells it for $80 (which is alot for me) and they said I can't return it if it doesn't fix my problem. It's also pretty cold out, around 15 degrees, if that helps any. Thanks.
