Have owned a ST205 for a while now, had probs with turbos etc. Anyway apart from that love the car but its costing me a fortune in fuel. Im getting about 14mpg with the way i drive.

Anyway am thinking of trying to get hold of a gen 6 with the VVti lump in it! Looking at the forum info from what i can work out they came in the ss3's????? After 98. Does this mean all ss3 after 98 have the vvti or only some of them. Plus whats the difference between ss2 and ss3.

How do these vvti compare to the standard 3sge lump. I had one of the standard ones in an mr2 and that went quite well!!

Any help mucgh appreciated

I think the SS-II just has a couple less options than the SS-III. I just did a quick search for members on the site with '98 SS-IIs and both results that came up with photos had the BEAMS 3S-GE in them. smile.gif

the major difference between the SS-II and III models is that the SS-III had the Superstrut suspension.

Good find Pete! smile.gif

I also thought that SS standed for Super Strut, but I guess not. If you can decipher any of this, there's probably some good information in there. wink.gif

gh0st_d0g is right that SSIIIs have superstrut suspension, but it was also an option in the SSIIs.
