I am been searching endless hours for a header for our car. As we all know there is none execpt for the select few, Genie and one another (I forget the name). I am in access to as many Genie headers as wanted. I need to know how many of you are intersted. I personally am in on this, I work with a body/customization shop in my area and they were able to get us a good deal on them. I can get them for $399, shipping will also be only about $50. Please let me know if you are interested, once i recieve the money the item will only take about 4 days to get to me and then i will ship them out to you.

THE MORE PEOPLE WE GET TO ORDER THESE AT THE SAME TIME THE CHEAPER THEY WILL BE. $399 WAS THE PRICE I WAS QUOTED, WE CAN SAVE A LOT ON SHIPPING IF WE BUY IN BULK!

i will post a pic in a few hours yes they are 4-2-1. I would say between 8-10 horespower. You will deffinately be able to feel the difference! Little to no modification for install. Again, I will get back to you shortly with pics.

I'm sure genie makes them for you but i would just buy your header for $300. I would imagine they would be between $350-450. Sorry!

IM Tottaly down, if they'd willing to either chrome them out or polish them otherwise its not really worth $400! No offense but my buddy was going to "try" to custom make something from either a Supra or from a new Celica, but he was talkin 250-300, no guarentees though, so if they can chrome or polish it up, Then sign me up!!!

400 does seem very expensive. i would do it if they were polished and were $375. that sounds alot more reasonable.

You wanna purchase these then urbandork? So far me and probably ssnake86, DJMC_Celica, and urbandork. The more people we get the cheaper i can probably get these for because they can all be shipped at once. Let me know guys, again, i will contact the company monday to see what we can do with polishing, and lowering cost. Thanks!

wow im glad to here your in on this...guys i cant get a dyno sheet up..noone i know has these installed for me to pay to have a dyno sheet done. Also i can get these chromed but it will be an extra few dollars. I will check on pricing on that though...a guy in town would chrome them for me. If we get more people to buy these the price will be cheaper, probably cheap enough to almost get all of the headers chromed and shipped for the price i listed in the first place...Let me know if anyone else is interested.
Thanks!

wow 400 bucks it expensive kinda..well for me more then any one else...cuz here its harder to get some shop to make custom header due to the fact they wont pass smog..mean they can be sued for making headers like that...thats why i like living here soo close to mexico..down there they dont care much...i was quoted at a really nice muffler shop down there for 80 for headers...this almosts make me want to make some and make some extra mula for myself.....now only if i had 80 bucks and a gt..hahah but those to look nice..why are they blue tho?

the more of you guys that say you want a header the pice may become lower depending on how many people sign up, so stop bitching about the price since this is one of the only companies in the world that make a header for this motor

the price for the header is going to be 399, but the more peolpe we get the better i can bring down the shipping. I am glad to here we have 2 people that are very interested. I dont understand why u guys complain so much about price, i know it sucks but i cant do any better. I have been searching for months and i am just lucky i found these. We can make the cuttoff date whenever we feel noone else is interested. Let me know guys. I can send away for um whenever you want....thanks for that post slvrblt that pretty much summed up what i have been trying to say ever since this post here

Im sure it wouldnt be hard to just do something with the header to have them flat gray. I mean dont quote me on this but i wouldnt see why you wouldnt be able to go to your closests autozone and buy gray spray paint. Just make sure it is the paint that is supposed to be used specificaly for engine use. So you in on this?
So far we got....
1.slvrblt
2.urbandork...unsure
3.COME ON GUYS!

It's not the prettiest, but look at it like this. Spray paint the flange black, and heat wrap the tubes (you should be doing this anyways). No problem anymore. How big are those tubes? And what type of metal are we talking here?

I slept on it and id have to say no. I just can see spending all that money on something that one hasnt been dynoed and two even if it was would probably only a minimal amount of horse power to the wheels. Espcially Since im running stock exhaust.

Perhaps next time if the group buy gets n e larger but personally i fell im better off with a 3sfe header set up and custom exahust.

After going through the process of buying this header I can found that I can save a s*%$loud of money if a few people buy together!...Thanks guys and ill keep u posted!

1) People have tried this before
2) Back when these were being produced, they had major fitment problems
3) So you're paying 400 for a group buy thats never been sucessfully done before; and people who used to buy the headers basically had to toss them

bye

3) So you're paying 400 for a group buy thats never been sucessfully done before; and people who used to buy the headers basically had to toss them

bye

so whats the deal, do these fit or not?

pimped6gen told me that he wont give me the info on the company that is making these headers. He said it is fun for him to be the only one able to get them. Thats F#$@ED UP! I think... Anyone agree. The site has always been about us helping eachother out. So either he wont give us the info because he really thinks its fun, or he is trieing to rip us off. I dunno someone else decide...

1. this isnt your forum.
2. i can post wherever i want.
3. giving people attitude who are skeptical(sp) wont convince them to buy off of you, you have to make them feel secure.
4. we all have reason to be affraid of "your product", simply because people have tried this before and they have failed
5. 400 dollars for something that give MINIMAL hp gains...it hardly seems worth it.
6. again i can post wherever i want.

love me, or hate me....im not going anywhere.....now shuddap newb

Is this by any chance the header now produced for 5th gen. GT and GTS by Hotshot?

I was just on their site the other day and saw that its on their list of new releases and I think its conception had something to do with the Celica.net crowd asking them for it, if I remember correctly.

5SFE 2.2L Celica header, at bottom of page.

If thats the one, this group buy is a good deal...since individually its around $522.

EDIT-- Just saw that you specified that it was the Genie header....but its always an option to look at. wink.gif

hey guys, that picture of the genie header is of my car. There is no fitment problem at all with the genie header. it was actually made to fit the camry with the 5sfe engine but it fits the celica just fine. there is no need for any fabrication.

The only issue was that the oil dipstick was in the way so all i had to do was bend it a little so i could still access it and you will need to fit in a flex pipe.

Do a little reseach, there is a pic of a dyno print out of my celi before and afteer a an safc tune. i had an intake, the genie header and exhaust system. It won't give you what gains are to be had with just the header but might give you some idea but then again, all dynos are different.

Genie is an australian brand and well known here. They make good quality stuff and have been around for a long time. They are mandrel bent 4-2-1 and the sound is pretty damn impressive... but saying that after the install, my butt dyno couldn't tell much of a difference. I asked my exhaust guy about it before I bought it and he told me that it won't do too much... you won't be able to feel it. I bought it anyway because at the time i had some spare cash. I can't explain the blue colour of the header. When I first saw it uninstalled it wasn't blue.. by memory it was silver but when i drove around for a few days it turned blue! ( I have no idea how)

Lets face it. there is hardly any power to be extracted out of an economical 5sfe engine, no matter what mods you do to it. Hence I have since sold my celica and purchased a type R.

I'll try and frequent this thread to see if anyone else wants any information but nowdays im hardly on this board because i have sold my celica. (trying to learn more about the dc5).

$400 USD sounds like a fair bit for some bent pipes. I know I didn't pay that much but then again you have to consider the cost of importing and then the dealer putting some extra on top etc.

wow thanks guys for those posts! I also agree that 450 is quite expensive for some bent pipes, but it the whole supply and demand issue...noone makes the headers so there gonna sell um for waaayy to much! If you guys can get 3 to 4 people together i can have the price brought down to about 399 for each header...lemme know guys and also i am having a great deal of trouble trying to post pics....how do i do it?

i just recently looked at my exaust manifold stock. and it doesnt look like we really need aftermarket headers. our stock pipes are pretty straight forward. do u think we would really get a proformance increase from these? Also i need some advice, i am getting the RIPP Mods supercharger system, do u think i would then need after market headers?

Well i know ive been in and out mostly because the GB, lets face it, hasnt really been a group buy. This is probably not due to price but more for the raw fact that power gain will be minimal.

Im thinking guna think about teh header next year and focus on getting a nice 1911/2011 .45 cal airsoft side arm.

my main reason for getting the header is because i am going to put the RIPP Mods supercharger on my celica and want a freer flowing exhaust to make the most out of the supercharger and other engine mods that i plan to do.

I got the same plan, but do u think the header will really imrpove that much, the factory manifold is pretty free flowing anyway?

the factory manifold may be free flowing but with the cat mounted to the manifold there is resistance to exhaust flow less than a foot from the engine. The header is also lighter than the cast iron stock manifold found on celics. with running a supercharger more air is going into the motor so more air is coming out of the motor, so the header will help more with the supercharger that with out one. This is my opinion if it is wrong i don't mind if you correct me.

I say that you guys who arent even interested cut pimped6thgen some slack....

If you arent interested, leave this topic. At least he's considerate enough to share his ability to purchase them with our community and not say "the hell with the rest of you". So please, a little respect. For those interested, this is not a bad deal at all, and I dont see how it could be.

That said, I may be interested in this header so ill let you know if i can swing it. Thanks for hooking us up. smile.gif

just a though for you guys worried about the $ issue on these headers, Which I personally think is way to high but not ripping on this GB - thats just IMO... newayz.. you can buy dyno tested headders off ebay all day long for 150 or less.. a machine shop would charge you 30-40 tops to make a flange to mount the header to the motor and prolly another 20-30 to rebend/weld pipes into place... Just an option for ya guys to look at if your worried about price vs performance.

Otherwise if you just want something prebuilt jump on this, but I would wait for the person that order one already to post.

As pimped6gen said i recieved my header today. The header is at my house in maryland so i will be home friday and will try to have some pics posted on friday or satruday. I will be putting the header on in december when I am home for winter break, since I have some other projects that I want to get done first. I will try to get some dyno numbers from before and after the change and will also post some pics of what it looks like installed on my celica

It would be a huge help to see these dyno'd before and after. I think you would sell alot more if there was some sort of data. Maybe you twou could split the cost of two pulls of something?

Wow

First off, try paragraphs when you're writing. It's like stickers on your car- you might not have the horsepower under the hood but people THINK you do.

My comments are valid- I do NOT have one of these headers on my car but I was looking into it about 6 months back and did my research- I've been around the site a great deal longer than you and have become and active member of the community (which is why I have more boxes and 1500 more posts than you). I have read through entire threads on genie and hotshot headers; and I posted the results of those threads.

These headers are built for the CAMRY engine- headers built for that engine have always "fit" our car, but require modification (more than just moving the oil dipstick). I'm interested if SiKBOY redid his entire exhaust with these headers- because if I remember correctly, the issue was the piping was a good 4 inches off (this is the issue with any camry header) because of the location of the camry (tranny?)(suspension?) and the exhaust path it takes is different on our cars.

As far as your PM to Sappark saying that you think it's fun to be the only one able to get them- that IS ****ed up. This isn't a group buy- it's a single buy with one intermediate too many. For all we know you're sticking an extra 100 on the asking price.

QUOTE
good luck with your ct26..hope it ends up lookin as good as ur face!

He'll more hp pound for pound and dollar for dollar out of that than he would with your mystery piping- and he won't have to worry about getting a part that doesn't fit.

As for your personal insult against him; you're such a big man aren't you? Running the group buy by yourself and selling to individuals, learning to write in paragraphs, calling people ugly- you've done so much for the community.

QUOTE(Silver94CelicaOwner @ Nov 11, 2004 - 8:50 PM)

Considerate is the last thing I'd call him. Respect is also something he's not going to get from me at all.

This could easily be a bad deal, for things that I and others have brought up before me (that were uhh.. respectfully shot down by pimped)

What it comes down to right now is that this is not a group buy; pimped is offering to sell these headers to individuals and promoting his own business (buy headers through me and no one else)
