Rather doubt that it'd be easy to do or that I could get the days off of work. It would be really neat though. I've got plenty of people I'd like to meet and shoot the breeze with.

Well, if we plan way ahead of time, you will have plenty of time in advance to take those days off.

Oh hell yes. I'm down like a clown Charlie Brown.

I say we need some ground rules. Here's my ideas
1) Celicas only. All gens welcome
2) We all exchange cell # in the begining. If someone goes to jail it's a group bail to get him/her out. We're in this together, and I for one, don't believe in leaving a man behind.
3) An entry fee of only like $10, so it makes a decent bit of cash for the winner.

Any other ideas?

Also, if we get enough people in, and a high enough entry fee, then there would be real drive. ****, if you have a $1k winner fee, you'd see people sinking cash into their cars b4 the race so they could hopefully break even or so

ok so umm you bastards are quick, i didnt have responses for a lil while there. so we could do east meets west. but heres my idea and it might take like 2 weeks, but it will be sooo much fun. so west goes east then we hit all the major cities on the east. then east and west go west. still hitting all the major cities and nopi events and other events. this way we could have like 30 celi's. i mean wouldnt it be hot to roll up to a nopi show. and just be like bam!!!. ok anyway heres the list so far. this list is a combo of def's and maybes. if i missed you sorry if you want to be on pm me or leave a post.

It's not really a race if you're stopping to sight see the whole time.

depending on several factors, i would be in. My Celi has already driven to the four corners of the nation, im sure i can hit the few states im missing on this trip.

Meeting in the middle would be good. Some people on the east can meet up and drive out, peopel from the south could meet up and drive out, people from the NW and SW... and we could all converge in a central location... Chicago? St. Louis? or the mother of all meeting places (although its not that central) Vegas!!!

It's a long way aways (till summer), so I don't know for sure if I can make it. I'd love to come, and St. Louis is an awesome city. Right now I don't even know if I'll still have the Celica at all in the summer.

heheh yes playr it wil be like snail mail. but hey its for the fun damit!! and we will meet for like 5 days at the hotel maybe less. i figure people that dont want to race, 5 days is perfect. cause chicago is at the most a 2 day drive from the furthest point. so it will be a full week off from work. as for the racers its gonna be another 5-7 days so more like 2 weeks. im gonna be savin up big time i know that much.

I don't think it should be Chicago. Because that is not centralized AT ALL! St. Louis or something along in there would be a better place.

i agree with Nat, if its between Vegas meet or Gumball i would go with Vegas. Esp if they are both during the summer, which it looks like they both will be, i will only have enough money for one of them. And im back and forth between Seattle and Chicago, but i would drive from either for Vegas. I dont know if i would drive from Seattle to go to St. Louis...

start in vegas and head to yosemite national park (curvy roads)
then head to san francisco scenic and picture
then from san francicso jump on pacific coast highway 1 (curvy roads)
then head to long beach

tahts about a good 4-6 day trip with stops and picture taking and scenic spots in between.

ok well i was hoping we could kinda leave cali for this one guys. i really want this to be more of a east west meet. that way we can all go somehwere in the middle. be equal distance to travel from either coast. and the south north guys will be close to.

California? UM.. how about we consider the people over here in Florida.. like.. on the east. Driving to Vegas.. then ending up in Long Beach? Not good for us on the east side at all..

Sorry, but if that happens.. I wouldn't be able to do it. I thought we were going to do something like in the middle.. that would accomidate.. EVERYONE.

I got an idea that will make everyone happy...

Have the west coast people meet in vegas, and have the east coast people meet somewhere over there wink.gif

then those that choose to come to the east/west meet can head to that and the ones that arent down for that can just go home.

I would suggest where I live for a meet like this:

Its a fairly good sized city.. actually its like 6 combined but there is a really nice strip that has ALOT of weekend cars etc... we also have a REALLY nice dragstip that nopi was at last year and will prolly return next, maybe time it with that, we also have some pretty cool places for pics etc and water, there is also the district which is like 4-5 city blocks of bars/nightclubs and it stays open till 3am wink.gif

there is also a mall that they do car shows at all the time.. im sure we could work something out for that.

also plenty of hotels etc that are usally pretty cheap.. would diffently work out some grouprate for a discount

I am about 300 miles west of chicago and about 4 hrs north of st louis... I would suggest stayin out of a large city... it would be too crowed for a large group of cars wanting to cruz around and would be really easy to get lost for those that dont know the city.

I would diffently be down to get everything organized for this on this end if you guys would wanna work out the details for the smaller meets.

Just a few thoughts to kick around

I agree with Never...

I live in one of the 6 smaller cities combined to make the one. My uncle is a manager of a hotel RIGHT NEXT to the district. Its got a parking garage next door, and I could ask him if he would be able to work out some extra deals for anyone willing to come.

There was a Grand Prix GTP meet here last summer where I met a guy who drove all the way from Canada to be here. Its a great place where the cops really aren't THAT horendous.

hmm i guess like i said before i want this thing to be big. so im gonna find a big city that is literally in the middle of the us. and those who want to come can come. those who dont wont. but if everybody wants it to be in there home town we wont get anything done. i like never's idea.... the only problem is most of the middle states are kinda dead. i want at least some clubs ya know.. so heres 3 ideas.. denver, st louis or davenport. st louis is the most fun then denver then davenport. all of them are somewhat central. so those are the choices i would like to hear which one yall would like. the only reason im only giving 3 is beacause i dont want to clutter this. i am hosting this meet, i dont wanna come off dickish but those are the choices. oh and anybody who would like to help me figure all this out. pm me please.

Well thats why I offered haveing a meet in some place in the west like losvegas etc and then those that felt like coming to dport could and those that dont wanna travel that far dnt have too.. thatway everyone is happy

and also would suggest one for the east coast too

Also we should start figuring out times that would work for both the smaller meets and the big one. I will talk to yoda sometime here and between the two of us can figure out details and decide on what would be good places to meet/check out etc

well were prolly not doing it in vegas. since people from the east coast would have to travel twice the mileage. the west coast people would drive like 15-20 its just not fair. thisi is a central all 6gc meet... so saddle up!. mad mods are you still down if its in davenport?.

well its not 17 hours from ny trust me i have actually driven across the us. and getting out of ny takes at least an hour so yea j/k. haha. but again from philly where i grew up to denver is 2 days. its about a day and a half from philly to davenport and a day and a half from la to davenport. just for some reference. yes it may take a lil longer if your north or south on either coast... but dam guys how many of you would love to see some of those cars from all over that you always make comments on ? this is your perfect opurtunity!!. so come on this meet will be the meet of all meets.

how about instead of people being selfish and stubborn we work together so this can actually work.... you know.. just a thought smile.gif

Natalie - how about you organize the Vegas meet, which you seem pretty up to doing.

We need someone on the east coast to organize a meet also.. NE one interested??

We will need to find a time that is gonna work for the most people, also need to calculate driving time etc.

something like this is ONLY gonna work if we pull together and help each other.. otherwise it will be just another good Idea that never got off the ground.

I would suggest once we get someone willing to organize the east coast meet that we start 3 new topics.. one main one for the "LARGE" meet with links to two other topics one for the east and one for the west.

And make it clear in all 3 topics that if the person chooses they don't nessarly have to attend the large meet but can just go to one of the smaller ones.. then everyone is happy

So I've been thinking of some ideas to put forth into the meet while everyones here so that things don't get dull.. I came up with a few, let me know what you think....

1. We could have this car show here for our 6g's and anything else that would happen to come along with magazine coverage from Import Tuner or Super Street or something along those lines. It would be a great way to showcase our rides. Theres a tuning shop (if thats what you'd call it, right never? lol) called Automotive Innovations. They hold car shows and events all the time in the Summer. I could talk to the guys there and see if they'd be willing to sponsor a show for us. We could even have a couple of contests for the cars (best overall, cleanest, best sound, etc.) and maybe we could get some type of prize thing from Automotive Innovations. Even JC Whitney's main warehouse in only 30 minutes away, maybe they'd get involved...

2. We have a dragstrip that we could prolly run up to one day and throw down some times and have a good day running our Celicas.. I know not everyone's car is built for the track, but its an option. I also might be able to get access to a dyno....But I'm assuming that IF I could do it, there'd have to be a number of people interested in doing so...

3. If we go enough people to come, it would be really cool to get a group photo of all the celica's together and made into a poster for everyone? I think that'd be bada$$.

These are just some ideas, if you guys like them and want me to pursue them, I'd be more than happy to do so. If you also have any other ideas or additional input feel free to respond!
