i'm not sure if this should be under the 'Suspension/Handling/Braking' or the Exterior Styling topic.. its kinda both i guess.. i'm getting an invader body kit sometime this month and i was wondering how low is everybody's car lowered. right now my car is pretty low and thats w/o the bodykit so i figure i have to raise it back up.
lets say "0 inches" is the "stock" height of your celica.. "+1 inch" means it is raised 1 inch and "-1 inch" means you lowered it 1 inch .. how low can i go w/o any dmg to the kit ?? or does it depend on the tire size and such?? i have kyb shocks n' decent springs .. and 15s w/ low profiles.. |

I have mine at stock w/ 17" rims and low pro's. Have no scraping, but have to drive very carefully in new orleans, I guess it depends on your roads. I want to lower it but would have problems if i dropped it an 1 on new orleans roads

I've got the invader kit on and my suspension is still stock. I have to be extremely careful and have scraped the front bumper probably 10 times already. Basically, if you lower it or not, you will scrape it eventually. At least you can't see where it scrapes though.

the lowering your car with the invader kit question is like asking how many apples are in a tree.
it all depends on many different factors (from driving experience to wheel size). first off, i have the kit and 17's with a 1 inch drop in the front and 1/2 inch in the back with tien coilovers. the stiffness is set on level 8 on all four corners. keep in mind that the stiffer the suspension the less you will scrape or bottom out due to the fact that your ride is held up. scraping is inevitable but scraping will not really damage your kit (fiberglass is alot stronger than what you think). what will damage your kit is impact, a really slow 3 mph impact will in some cases crack the fiberglass. just keep the ride stiff (good thing about tien coils) to prevent impact and take gas stations, driveways... in sharper angles. |

best way to protect your lip, is to go buy some bodyfiller with longstrand fiberglass or short really doesn't matter
then fill behind the bottom lip of your vader front.... i did this and it majorly helps this way if you bump anything it just chips or scratches instead of shattering |
