Behind every girl with a "tricked out" car, there's a guy who did it for them.

I hardly know any ladies that fix up their cars. Just a selected few...but that would be cool if I
could or be part of an lady racer team. hehe smile.gif

Hey and what's wrong with a pink ride? I think it's HOT!! LOL Just kidding....I wouldn't choose that color.

My favorite thing is cars..and that's what i spend half of my time whether i am reading about them, working on them or talking about them with you guys. A girl that can talk the talk about cars catches my eye wink.gif

I should admit that I know what I like and i work with my dad to get it done. I will be the first to admit that I dont know much about cars but I do know more than your typical girl.

the thing that sucks if your a girl fixing up your ride is you'll have to get some decal or whatnot to say that its your car biggrin.gif . cause otherwise its your boyfriends.

hah, i wish there were girls out here that really know what they are doing to their cars. either it is their boyfriend's handy work or they bought the car that way.

when i was car shopping, i almost bought a 1997 eclipse that had 17 inch wheels, eibach springs, gredy catback, and a complete sound system(which i could car less about). the owner was a girl that just got out of high school, and her dad had to explain to me everything that was done because she had no clue.(i didnte buy it because it was an RS and my dad heard horror stories about the problems dsm's have, mainly my cousin's gsx)

this other time i went to pepboys to get paint for my friend's side mirrors. there was this silver 7th get GT parked right in front with a girl in the drivers seat and two guy installing a CAI under the hood. i went in with my friend, bought the paint, and went back to my car. as i pass one of the guys working under the hood said it would add 15-20 hp(yeah, maybe on a supra tt, lol) so i stop and say that a CAI doesnt add that much power, maybe like 10hp tops. then the guy said "what do you know, look at the wheels you got" as i got in my car i said, "only a GT, your wasting your time" i sat down and so did my friend, started my car as all three were looking at me(the air filter i have makes a sort of turbo sound, which goes away when it wamrs up so i really had their attention) i floored it backing up(my friend was checking out the back for me) chirping the tires and got out of there. i had their attention the whole time. but to prove a point, most girls get stuff done to their cars by the boyfriends, and most of the boyfriends are ricers or dont know what they are talking about when they explain it to the girl, causing the information to be even more wrong. I have a friend and she says that she has a 289 slant 6 in her 65 mustang, lol

but around here, when a girl actually picks the things to do to her car, it ends up looking like ass(black paseo with pink wheels and pink pin striping) rolleyes.gif

point is, it would be very cool and very rare(i will with out second thought help a girl with her car tho!!)

oh and mustangs aren't all that fast(of course they have the v8 potential) but if done wrong they suck, especially the auto and when you put on a big wing, not to mention the fact that they are almost as common as integras

and on the mustang topic you could put anyone to shame by telling them they are 1 wheel drive, except for the saleen(sp?) which is 2wd in the rear.

I get "ragged" on from some of my coworkers at GM. THey think i'm crazy for doing what I do to my car. But they actually compliment on the way that it looks when they see it. Bcus rarely do they see a chick involved in doing body work or performance inhancements to their cars. Since I work mainly with men all day long my boyfriend teases me because of the way that some of my coworkers are willing to help me do any modifications when my boyfriend and I aren't working on my car.

I can keep up with the talk....but i'm still learning my way around the engine talk as far as the internals of it all. BUt i'll get it....just a matter of learning the whole build process.

It's funny bcus I used to crack on people "fixing" up their cars....but until I got involved with GM and doing vehicle design bcus I couldn't see the point in doing it. But I can't turn away from this hobbie......I enjoy it. smile.gif

I love it. I wouldn't mind at all dating a girl that had the same interests as me. Playing with my car is my #1 hobby. Lots of girls don't know anything about cars and they see it as an intrusion on the relationship.

Not really much of a turn on for me, it's cool if chicks are interested but no so much if they are obsessed with their cars

but I am just getting into the car modding scene.

I am just a geek with a celica biggrin.gif

more power to you...BlackCelicaGT94! I love my car and doing any mods to it myself. Got started on cars with my ex...but now thats over and i devote most of my time to work and my baby! tongue.gif I just got my wheels and i am damn happy! I do know quite abit about cars...esp. mine and my ex's civic.

As for what Mage had to say...i didn't even have my car when we were together and he has helped me but i prefer to do everything myself. I learned alot from my dad for is a big car restorer...i mean i helped him restore a 911 Porche! biggrin.gif

LOL as for the high heels and mini skirts...its hard to clutch with them 3" heels on! and the skirt just rides up! rolleyes.gif

I hate it when guys say that girls don't know anything about cars. Even though most girls don't, I think that they should. Personally I grew up the only girl and was always around my 6 uncles. They were all gear heads always working on their cars and I was right there helping them. Everything that breaks on my car gets fixed by me. From changing brakes to putting in my new clutch. So to all the girls in here that work on their own cars keep it up. :)

Girl or Guy it doesn't matter to me. the only thing that is important is the car. It does matter if a 30 year man did it or a 18 year old women. or someones 60 year old grandmother if your ride is hot its hot and if it's not your going to get laughed at.

I think girls who fix up their cars are a great thing!

I don't think guys should be the only ones who talk about cars all day!
My fiance'(damn french words) drives a stealth and she loves to race.

She just likes to give me a hard time about mine(because of all the stuff that ive had to repair over the years)

when we both get settled down, we are goin to buy a 69 SS chevelle and restore it together! (ahhhh,) wink.gif

But, go for it girls, do your thing, just don't let a ricer try and fix up your cars!
