Ummm......hate to break it to you guys, but i think he meant the roof scoop was convertable, not the car.....lol rolleyes.gif i mean, flame me if you want, i dont give a sh**, but im pretty sure hes got more common sense than that wink.gif

EDIT- convertible scoop, maybe in that it closes up, or something.....?? Im pretty sure he either he meant that or hood scoop.

$400 just to fit the scoop to your roof? **** that! I would be lookin for a new shop elsewhere. They are probly charging you so much cause they don't know how to do it and they have to buy a bunch of manuals explaining how to do it.

That gtr battle wing looks nice!! How much did it cost?? The roof scoop looks funny though, (not to sound like a prick) it looks like they just laid it on top of your roof. But i know its not done, i wanna see the finished project.

Also can someone tell me what type of wing does that black convert. w/ the hood scoop have?

that wing kinda looks like one of the terminator ones but cant remember which number think maybe # 3

I will say that the GTR and GTR/B wings are the absolute best choice for the 6th gen celica if you have the Invader rear end. The wing matches the body lines of the car and the rear airdam perfectly I will post a photo for you guys to check out how well it fits

For those of you who are wondering the actually purpose on a front engined car is while racing. Yes, RACING! One of my friends dad is huge into the racing scene, and he ice races. With all of the elements involved in ice racing, you need the air induction coming from the roof. To put one on a rear engined car serves an excellent purpose. To put one on a street car is absurd and anyone seen with one should be slapped. To involve a roof scoop into a car without being able to see the tubes(hiding in A-pillar or going around the back) would add very very little performance increase.

Anda thats really interesting bro! Never heard of a roof scoop being used as an intake. Actually roof scoops evolved in the rally scene, where A/C is removed due to weight / electrical reasons, and the only way to get air to the driver (and co-driver) is by putting a cabin intake on the roof.

Cool to hear about the intake though, I'd love to see some pics of one hooked up biggrin.gif

Oh by the way, I think you are a little too heavy in your criticism of him putting a roof scoop on. We all know that it isn't going to be a performance mod. Do you really think adding body parts of any sort is going to make a big difference to our cars? The exterior styling on the 6th gen is already VERY aerodynamic - and don't tell me a rear spoiler will do much, because we need to worry about front traction not rear.

The bottom line is he is doing this mod for looks, and if it looks good, then I'll give him a thumbs up!

DUDE! maybe he just wants the roof scoop cuz he thinks it looks good and different. is that possible? that maybe someone isnt obsessed with racing and just wants their car to look good? And before you start making comments about how much you hate the "fast and furious" cliche, take a look at your profile, it says u want altezza style lights. if anything is the epitome of the fast and the furious cliche, it is altezza style lights. and dude your profile is like almost all "looks" modifications that you want to do, that have nothing to do with performance. and i dont even remember seeing a roof scoop in that movie... maybe u should think before you get on your high horse. you can give your opinion, not try to ream someone out cuz they want their car to be different.

Yeah because all I need is a new motor and upgrade the turbo and I'm done. Altezza style lights are exclusive to the TOYOTA ALTEZZA. Companies such as APC copied the Toyota's Altezza light style. I am simply keeping the style in the family. You try stepping down from your "High Horse." I know more about performance and racing then you could imagine. I never said I was knocking him for his creativity. Apparently people took my post the wrong way. I was simply "Informing." Oh, and it's on the VERY FIRST CAR YOU SEE IN THE MOVIE. You know, the Green Eclipse that is the epitome of all that is "rice."

Oh yeah by the way i want to see the demonyas on your car. I am looking at getting 18"s

alrite, it just seemed a bit condescending, sorry if ya didnt mean it that way. its just not cool to say someone should be smacked for having a certain mod on their car, w/ the exception of interfoolers and BOV speakers, but no one here would do that lol. I have never seen a 6gc w/ a roof scoop, and it was obvious that it wasnt going to be functional, it is just a looks thing. he likes it and hes the one who has to wake up every morning and see his car. i bet a lotta ppl here arent gonna like my ideas, but they will prolly like my look when im done, but hey, itll win shows and i'll like it, and thats the really important thing, that the owner likes it. but my ideas are top secret, sorta, not really. well whatever. sorry we kinda locked horns right there. this IS the exterior styling forum, and dude, good luck on the altezzas, i've always had an idea on how to make altezzas for a 6gc without doing a tail light conversion to like a camaro or somethin(i believe those are the closest fit to ours) but i dont have the time or the patience or the want to actually make em, plus you'd have to take your exisitng tails to a shop that can do plexiglass and that might be a lil costly, eh prolly not considering the desired effect. anyway, sorry for yellin at ya, i just dont think a hood scoop is rice at all, sure its purely looks, but it serves the purpose to look good and as long as its not put on there all shoddy and it does look good, its not rice. rice is looking like crap, sounding like crap, and thinking crap is good. the level of rice could easily be determined by the driver even. two guys with the exact same car(nicely hooked up), one could be a ricer and one could be cool, the attitude of the driver is that powerful. but thats just my opinion, i dont see how a roof scoop is ricey, or how any custom body work is ricey, unless hes saying it does something that it doesnt do. like if he was saying the roof scoop was going to be another intake but it wasnt, that would be ricey. wow... i started rambling. i guess what i was tryin to say was that u sounded malicious, but you werent, so no harm no foul. wink.gif and about the demonyas, i dont have them on, but i will most probably have them by august, the guy im getting them from is being stupid. but yea pretty soon ill be hooked up with some of those rims. hopefully all this will not bust my bank account too much. a few G's will take care of this quite nicely. well its nice we got that all straightened out. cant wait to see what your ride is like after u drop some cash into it. u got the spirit to make it look quite nice.

Once again, I'll agree with the fact that it's your car - do what you like, not what others like. If everyone was made to agree with what I thought, every single car would be done up exactly or similar to mine, and I do not want that.
