Ok I want to have a blue glow from my dash... So I purchased some red 194 bulbs first but they came out orange (this was just to see if I liked them). Today I went to auto zone and asked for some *blue* 194 bulbs and was given some 168's that are entirely blue. for 6 bucks it wasn't a bad deal. I get home pull out the gauge again and the damn things are WHITE. How in the hell gahhh

ok now that my little rant is over can anyone suggest a specific brand so I don't wasnt anymore cash for this damn mod?

Super white is the best ur gonna get heh, I bought a bunch of random bulbs too, what a waste!! The blue bulbs make it a dull aqua green color....I think you mind as well get the reverse indiglo gauges if you really want a true blue glow from your dash

I would go with leds but I have no understanding of wiring and such (you should see the way I wired up my radio it works but it is not pretty lol) so best not. After turning the bulbs up to max it comes out a light light blue (looks white) but the gauges itself still has a green tint so I think I am gonna replace it with one that has blue instead (should look nice?) heh sides I just got a job so I can buy stuff soon (i hope)

Sure, Light Emitting Diode is three words. But LED is a single acronym. So I took the average.

If you wired your own radio, you should be fine with LEDs. It's easy to practice (PC power supply = 12V). Just find out the voltage drop on each LED and wire them in series such that their total drop > 15V.

LEDs:
Are brighter (if you get the right ones)
Last longer
Draw less current -> less power
Emit much better colored light

okay your talking about your guages right, if u are don't get led's they will come out looking funny and not distributing the light even. Get 194 bulbs. the ones that are blue are hyper whites just make sure u get the color u like. i first choose blue and later replaced with red and i love it.

I have already gotten them if you read my post. After looking it over I am just going to change out the guages themselves (they have a green tint still) to blue ones which should be good. now its jsut a matter of finding a place that makes ones I like...
