I have used a yellow in the past. I need something to help power a super system. I have always heard use yellow, but I have seen cars with the red battery. whats the difference?

super system? if you plan on running over a 1000rms then your super system will require a High Output Altenator, this is what powers your system. you will need 160amp alt or bigger. and use a Yellow Top or Red Top, id go with the Yellow Top personally....

I love my redtop in my sixth gen. I can crank the music(with both amps on) with the car off for a couple hours and the car will fire right up when I start it. smile.gif

I don't think most batteries are capable of that. Plus normal batteries can't be put in the trunk. That's the real reason why I went with the redtop. wink.gif

hmm, id keep your stock battery and put the Optima in the trunk or under the hood if room, so your stock battery runs the car and the optima is for the stereo. also you dont neccesarily(sp?) need that big of an alt, but Atleast 140. adding another battery will really only help when the car is off.

just go buy a costco battery

They sell optima red, yellow, and blue batts at costco, the red is $99, plus if it ever goes dead, I mean ever costco will take it back, they take anything back.

My opinion is the red is the best most power CA, CCA (Cranking amps, witch is in general how much it puts out, and Cold Cranking Amps, for when your car is off, for those who dont know what it is), i think yellow is more for cars that require more durability then power, and blue is for boats.

I have both a red top and a yellow top, they are both very good. My red top is a replacment for my stock one, and my yellow is for all my goodies that I have. Like coomer said I can play video games all day and it will start right up when I need it to.
Edit: Scarrell you can fit it under the hood wink.gif
