the cavaliers use an ecotec engine. Supposedly it can be a pretty stout engine, but havent really looked too much into it.

they dont use ecotecs... they were sold from mid 95 to 98 i think, and they used the 2.3 quad four and 2.4 twin cam four cyliners. they decided against the 2.2 because pushrod engines all but dissappeared from domestic passenger cars by then...

Car #2: 95 Celica GT- purchased 8/03, current daily driver Car #1: 01 Focus ZX3- purchased 5/01, sold 8/03 |

I know somebody that had the 2.3 quadcam in his sunfire. All he had was an intake and that thing was a rocket. He beat a porsche boxter one night. He only lost by 1 car to a 97+ H22 prelude. But last night he totaled it.

I'm gonna go ahead and call BS on that. a cavalier/sunfire with basic mods is at best a high 15 second car. a boxster runs high 14s completely stock .. maybe a freak from factory |
