I was searching around for rear struts. I came across what someone had posted saying that coupes do not need a rear strut bar. Is this true? If it is, why don't we need it?

Just taking a guess but I'd say the hatchback by design is weaker in the rear than the coupe because of its lift hatch. It'll be less stiffer in the rear than a coupe. GT4's come standard with a rear strut.

the reason you dont need a rear strut bar is cause the the frame around the trunk acts like 1 big strut bar.

Exactly. The Hatch just has two lumps in the back where we have a big effing pillar. Yet the coupe still weighs less... I wonder why?

I think the coupe weighs less because that rear glass on the hatch probably weighs a lot.

I was thinking just the hatch in general. Plus the mechanics that hold that bad boy up when you pop the hatch.
