I hate my steering wheel, so I just did a search and realized that no one really knows for sure whats going on. There were about 15 post are asking the same questions and no real answers. Ok, I know that a 7th gen fits, but the wires are different. I take it that the airbag module runs through your ecu, and the 7th gen has 2 extra wires. So you can switch the wheels, but the airbags won't work ....right? Also I believe the 98-99 celica steering wheels were updated to 3 spoke wheels. So will they work? Different ecus? I read the computers were different between the celica years? obd1-2s difference? What years did the computers change? what years had what?
So my next ?? would be , who actually has done a switch with functional working airbags? I looked at lar's trd steering wheel and pm'd but I don't think he's around anymore. This post has been edited by madmods: Jan 5, 2005 - 3:14 AM |
