indiglo gauges needle sticking Options

after i installed my reverse indiglo gauges, my tach needle sticks a little. it will move, but hesitates because the back of the needle is hitting the gauge face. i tried double sided scotch tape, but its not really working. any other ideas?

the only real way that they will not stick is if you use crazy glue on the overlays.

the only drawback to this is that if you ever decide to go back to stock gauges, they will have glue marks on them.

How about bending the needles up slightly? I did that on my bike, and that worked. Just be careful, u don't want to snap these off.

I pulled my needles up slightly and I used double sided tape underneath.

i just took the black caps off of the needle and it gives it a cool glow to it and i used clear double side 3m tape, worked great

rjbibeau, any pics of the glow with the caps off? today, im going to try what TI told me to do. ill let you know what he said if it works out.

ohhh ya i didn't have the dimmer turned up that much. if you crank it up the green is really bright. but i like just a lil bit o green

Looks nice, I thinks those are the same as mine. I used superglue to hold down the overlays. It worked great.

well so far its working, but it always worked for up to about 3-4 days. after a week or so ill give updates on how its holding up. rjb, it looks like your needles dont light up anymore with the caps off. maybe its just because you have the dimmer on a lower setting.

The gauge dimmer has no control over the needles. The stock car dimmer controls those. Sounds great that its working, let me know. I also like the caps ON look alot better. But yes, rocky and rjb, those are the same gauges I have until I save some dough for Romas's.

looks bad without the caps cause the needles dont get lit up. im working on my cluster right now... painting the needles red.

why would you paint em then the light won't shine through

it will be fine if you use a transparent red paint. kind of like what some of us used to make our clock blue. btw, the blue transparent plastic sheet i got doesnt really make the clock very blue, just more of a blue-greenish, so i just left the original cover off for a nice clean teal look.
