well the federal stafford loans are not enough for my education, so i need to borrow more

i want to borrow from the same bank i got my stafford loans from

i am almost 19, i have a credit card and financed car insurance (have to when you have state funded) neither of which i have been late on payments so i know i have no marks against my credit

the credit card is near maxed out though, i plan on paying it off with my birthday money, so i dont know how the bank will take that.

do you think i will be approved without a cosigner?

i have no one to cosign me.. ive already asked my mom and stepdad and all my family and no one has good credit

Not me, I'm lucky. biggrin.gif

Did you get a cosign for the stafford loans, if not they you probibly dont need one, however its always posible, and in there best intrest that you do have one.

PS: I have never and hope to never have a credit card, I pay cash or debit only, that way I only buy what I can afford, and never owe money.

Have your parents apply for a Stafford Plus Loan. If for some reason your parents get turned down for it because they have bad credit or anything like that, the government will pity you, and give you close to every penny you need for school. True story.

good luck with the no credit card situation... i work in collections, and having no credit is the equivalent of having filed for bankruptcy in creditor and banker's eyes... you will guaranteed need a cosigner for anything without any credit history...
