I'm gonna buy a PS2 just for GT4... I was gonna buy a slim one since it has a network adapter already built in, but I heard there are reliability issues with the new slim PS2.. Can anyone confirm this??

I really need to know because I'm buying this week confused.gif

i would definitely go for the new slim ps2. a couple of my friends have it and they have no problems. ive had my origional ps2 for about 4 years and haven't had a problem yet. so its up to you. i heard PS3 is in the works, so im holding off on getting the new slim line.

I have it ........... its awesome.

No problems what so ever. One thing you have to do is update the new networking software if you have the old one. The software is included.

Its so frikken small. I love it

BTW I have my deposit for gt4, I'm dying to play that sh!t

I will return one day.

heres the deal with the new psII. They had a problem manufacturing them. i.e. they were lighting on fire. This is the reason they had so few for the holiday season. You shouldent have any problem with any ps2 made after the pre xmass madness.

I've had mine for 3 months give or take and it's been working like a dream. I think once after playing all day right after christmas it may have overheated, but it could have been somethin else.

I just started getting that error Monday on my old PS2. I disassembled it and put it back together and it seems to be working fine. The thing is that I didnt do anything to it. I hope it holds up.
