There is a guy on the mr 2 boards that can make all kinds of stuff out of carbon fiber. I thought it would be a long shot but I emailed him and asked if he would be willing to help us out and make celica parts also. Well he wants to know what kind of ideas we had in mind. So what would you all like to see done in carbon fiber?
I was thinking maybe fuse boxes, cruise control cover and alike. How about a rear lisc plate area (don't know what to call it). -Bryan- This post has been edited by 1bwilson: Mar 27, 2003 - 12:32 AM -------------------- Member of Team 5sfTe

Or like all the parts you would take out and paint if you wanted a fresh look for you inside, have those molded into CF that way it looks tight and it lighter than that plastic crap, or just looks better if not lighter. I'm not a big fan of the CF sticker you can buy everywhere.

i'd be willing to buy a CF front lip underspoiler if it was like 250-300. you guys have to realize, CF stuff is $$$$. I got my fuel door overlayed and it was 100 bucks. i personally think that **** like m3 mirrors and ricey crap that you can get for any honda/acura is a waste of effort, besides those mirrors are not CF at 75 bucks... they are CF LOOK. If you had real CF mirrors, the tiny ones, those are like 300-400 bucks. we should get something custom, a really cool addition. just MO.

here's 2 examples... i would stress, i do NOT want to make a CF copy of the zephyr kit. come ON guys, let's do something original. if i wanted it too look like the Z kit, i'd get the Z kit ![]() maybe like that, but a custom design... or... like this... it's hard to see, but it's like a spoiler under the lip ![]() these are just examples, i don't think we should "copy" either of these. i'm willing to do some designs if enough people want to take this idea forward. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300

Definately a front lip.....i would imagine that would be relatively easy to make, and its not too big or anything. Besides, you could use the same design on both hatches or coupes, as far as i know.

for the 80 billionth time, you can't can't can't COPY a stock TOYOTA part. it's illegal, and unoriginal. no one would do it, because even if they did, a CF GT4 hood would probably end up being about 800, and no one would buy it cuz they thought it would be like 400. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300

It's already been done Charlie, just not in CF. And for the 80 billionth time back, it's only illegal if they say it's an original Toyota part. There are many copies of the TRD kit, as well as aftermarket OEM style parts that body shops use. As of yet there are no lawsuits because of that. If you haven't learned from Celica.net that I don't speak unless I know what I'm talking about, then now you know. That's why I don't post 5 billion times a day, I only post when I know the answer to someones question, or just chit-chatting. This post has been edited by aaronc222: Apr 10, 2003 - 5:29 PM |
