I am doing a 3SGTE swap into my 94 celica.
I am looking to get a FMIC but I can't choose one.
I want to get the Greddy one..but they are too expensive.
but I don't want the smaller one though.
I am seeing some of cheap ones and HUGE on Ebay.
They go down to like $290
Are they good for our cars?

and I had my car welded all the way to the back from front.
so I cant take off my front bumper.
Does that really matter?

Please give me some info about FMIC.
Thanks.

good luck getting a big FMIC inside your bumper if you have it molded to the fenders

actually, its impossible with out cutting something.

ha I didnt even read that far - and u didnt have it welded its just bondo and fiberglass.

This is why molding stuff is good looking but totally impractical.

yeah molded kits are f'd up to work with. Why do you want a "big" intercooler? What kind of turbo are you planning on running on your 3s? Are you going to stick with the ct26? Even if you don't and you go bigger you should know that you dont need a "big" intercooler... thats all looks man... its kind of rediculous. The one that lagos has is more than enough to keep your charge cool... It sounds like you need to do alot more research before you get your swap done... If you havn't already try searching around the forums.. almost everything you need to know is in here. Good luck!

I know that i need to do alot more research on swap and cars even though I do everyday.
I am still learning about our car through this forum.
But I totally enderstand that I dont need that big intercooler for our kits, but
as far as the power concerns..I also care about the look too.
That's why I am asking..
i want to get the big Greddy or Spearco ones, but they are out of my budget.
With half of that money, I can get twice bigger than those ones but with no brand name.
Are they good? If It was the Turbo's or something else..I wouldn't be asking this cuz I wouldn't even use ****ty ones for other ones.
But intercoolers seems all fine to me..they are just cooling down the turbos.
On Ebay..the Huge no name ones go for about $200.
That sounds good deal to me.
Or shouldn't I buy no name ones?

intercoolers cool off the charge air, not the turbo

get a bar and plate intercooler, they are stronger and have less pressure drop.

you generally want a quality intercooler that has good flow and cooling to help keep lag down

my Z has a cheap ebay one and it works pretty well, but the design is not nearly as good as the fmic on my wrx

my friends 240z has a bar and plate massive fmic. it has pretty good end tanks and low pressure drop according to the seller.
