Kinda crazy driving so fast. GTIs are fast - either the 1.8T or the VR6 - both wicked fast. Are you sure it was a GTI or was it a Golf ?

Erm. The 1.8T is quick ish. The VR6 gets about 200bhp.

Both are fodder.

If that's 'wicked fast' you need to get your ass down to a racetrack sometime.

My friend wants a gti. They are no joke. The r32 is 6 cyl turbo awd about 250 hp stock, the r34 is the 1.8 turbo, also quick about 180 hp stock. The vr6 has 200 hp stock, and is turbo'd. Not to mention they are small and pretty light.

they're quick, my buddy up at school has the 20th anniversary Rabbit edition, its pretty quick... and a girl at my school has a R32... its not too bad either. i can beat the GTi no problem... the girl with the R32 didnt go to the drag day so i never raced her in the 1/4, but i did beat her at the autoxs, shes pretty good too... runs SCCA in the womens division.

What?

R32 is a 3.2 litre NA V6. About 240bhp and has the VAG 4-Motion drivetrain. It's a nice car, but god is it heavy.

The R34 doesn't exist as far as I know.

The GTi is either a 150bhp or a 180bhp version of the 1.8 that VAG use in everything, and is FWD.

VR6 is about 190-200bhp, and is normally aspirated.

The one to look for is the 150bhp TDi GTi. 290lb/ft of torque make it very useful indeed.

All of the turbo models respond well to chipping.

All of them are targets, and only the R32 or a well driven VR6 prove a problem in stock form.

Modified, anything goes.

The 1.8t is 180 bhp that is straigt from vw's sight. The r-32 is 240 bhp and is 3.2 liter enginge the vr6 is 200 bhp and is a 2.8 or so liter engine. The r-34 I meant the 1.8t.
