OMG
I think it might be worth it to fly over set-up shipping and take apart what needs to be to shiop back. |

Couldn't you just take the engine out of the car and ship that separately to a budies place, then ship the car to yours as a parts car? I mean would this work? I mean theoretically JDM engines are shipped to the US all the time. What abotu the body of a car with no engine?

Its in Vladivostok, so i bet you could ship it cheap on a container ship from Japan or Korea thats heading to the west coast.
For $4500, it would be well worth looking into doing it all leagally. If it costs, lets say an outragous amount, $10,000 for shipping, customs, to get it legal to drive here in the states. Thats still only $14500 for a true st205 GT4! -------------------- Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it... |

Not worth it... I can get JDM GT4 96' with alittle damage on the driver side imported from japan, cleared from customs and etc for about 3000$. And i live like 1000 km (600 miles) from Russia (actually 1000 km from me to moscow).
Importing it from japan to russia is pretty cheap, but getting a car to states would be about 1000-1500$ + This post has been edited by doGGy: Feb 22, 2005 - 1:56 PM -------------------- Ex celica owner - just a guy from other side of the pond...

Look at the center console for climate control thing (if it is GT4 and all GT4 came with climate control, the control unit will be different then USDM or other Celicas, it will have 2 round regulators and etc...), another thing - cluster, instead of 2 (Engine temp, and fuel) there must be 3 gauges (3ird - boost gauge)
These would be few thing what you will be able to check from pics, but still if the car was transplanted, these things can be reworked in a new car... this guy dissapeared after I offered him money. I told him if he can get it off the customs (like he said he would in his ebay reply-claimed he knows a guy at customs) and have it parked off the customs property I would give him 10K and even sent him a pic of me holding a big wad of money. Sure enough he never got back and now he wont return emails period

same here. I told him that i wanted to get an address and phone number, haven't heard from him since.
Did he guarantee that the car would be yours? He said that in every email he sent me. He did something dumb though Gave me his account number and routing number This post has been edited by Jeremy1210: Mar 12, 2005 - 2:05 AM |
