the leds i bought didnt light up. how much voltage does the board give to the stock LED's? my leds have a forward voltage of 3.2-3.6 and reverse of 5-6v. what does that mean?

ok well the 8 leds that are on there right now you could just directly replace with the leds you have w/out the use of any resistors. just make sure that the polarity is correct.

well before i unsoldered or cut out the existing LED's, i touched the contacts of the new LED's to the existing lit up LED's and they did not light up. the polarity was correct.

You have to remove the stock LED's and replace them with the desired color LED's. Any extra LED's that you want to install. you must find a power source and ground. On the positive line use a 220 resistor and an LED. Ground the ground. If you tryed to connect an LED with out a resistor, That LED is now blown thow it away. Use all new LED's if you're not sure.
If you need any help let me know I've done it all. Painted, LED, Other Lights. Right now I have painted, LED's are a pain. But I do have the LED climate control handy if I want to switch. DEF -------------------- ![]() I will return one day. |

def, do you mean my blue LED's wont light up with the stock LED's there even when i touch the contacts to the lit up LED? have you tried painting the buttons, knobs, etc blue? did you take off the green condoms on the #74 bulbs? also, have you tried to make the drivers window switch blue?

1. no they wont light up you have to completely replace them.
2. Yes, I have only painted them red though. you might want to look into candy blue from a hobbie store. I have a pic in my profile of the painted C.C. 3. Yes I removed the gelcaps Covering the bulbs. 4. Never bored enough to mess with the window switch. But, open it up and just replace what ever is in there with your color. Can you give me the details on ur LED's ? Size, voltage, color, ccd or cd or whatever it is say how brite they are, where you bought them, DEF This post has been edited by defgeph: Apr 12, 2005 - 11:02 PM -------------------- ![]() I will return one day. |

electricity takes the path of lease resistance. remove the stock led and replace it with your blue one. It will work.

Yeah they should work go to radio shack and buy 220 ohm resistors.
Unsolder one stock led, solder in a unused new blue one and see if it works. I'm not sure if they have to be 12 volt or not. I cant remember, I did this like 2 years ago. Jubz - I'm the man, it just pops out. lol DEF -------------------- ![]() I will return one day. |

finally got around to the climate. everything works fine and lights up. the only problem is that the black plastic things that go around the LED's dont fit anymore. if i leave them off, will the light from one LED shine out the other buttons so much it looks bad? or should i just try to mod the black things to make them fit?

You can shave down the led. it's just plastic. It's not hollow. That's what I did for my PS2 controller when I couldn't find square Blue LEDs. Wait just a minute I'll take a picture. -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

A finger nail file will work. It's super easy. yes If you leave the black piece out then the lights will all be lit up at once. The one that is on will be brighter of course but I think it'd look like caca. Just file the bitches or mod the "black pieces." -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

Most files have two abbrasive sides one for corse work and the other for finishing touches. Try the other side it might work better. I personaly used an emry board and had the LED shaped in under a minute. Whatever you do get some pics of the filed LEDs and finished project. -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |
