I am looking to upgrade my suspension and we all arent too rich so I am just asking some quick questions.
I want to get some TRD lowering springs and some shocks to match them. Which ones should I get the non adjustable or adjustable ones? I was wondering because I would drive in the winter and want something that wont rust or stick up. If I get adjustable I want to be able to change the settings come spring. Any other Canadian out there? Thanks for all your help!! |

well its up to you on how you want your ride height to be..i got kyb gr2 and they work great just put them yesterday..if you get adjustable it depends on which ones you get the cheapo ones doesn't have a nice ride to them.i think Consynx said that ground controll is the better adjustable ones with eibach spring.

Your only option for KYB's are GR2s. They are stock replacements and not adjustable. Buy them from Tirerack.com for about $200. KYB also makes AGX's (adjustable), but not for our car.
Your other non-adjustable option are the Bilstein TCs. These are also stock replacements, but some people like Bilsteins over KYB. You can find them on ebay for $300. If you want adjustable struts you have to go with Koni Yellows. They run about $500-600 if I remember correctly, very nice, very bling. If you want to really throw money at your car, forget the springs and get complete coilovers. The Tein SS set will cost you about $1200 bucks on ebay. Although. I don't know what you really want with your question. With adjustable struts, you can only change how stiff they are, not how how high your car rides. If you wanted to control height (for snow etc..) you would want coilovers. Ground control makes coilover sleeves that you can use with struts to adjust your height - that way you can have your adjustablility without spending thousands on suspension. Keep in mind that if you change your ride height, you should get an alignment. This post has been edited by soltrain: Apr 14, 2005 - 3:29 PM |
